Previously in my life...

I spent New Year's Eve (or as we call it: Silvester) with my mom, my brother and my friend S. eating good food and playing board games. It was quite a lot of fun, even though I didn't win once. Boo! We watched Dinner for One, watched some fireworks and then we all went home. It was pretty nice.

The not so nice part was that I woke up with a cough, a runny nose and cramps. Meh. Since I worked between Christmas and New Year, I was able to take off the Friday and Monday after the New Year (January 6th is a public holiday here), so it kinda sucked that I had a cold the whole week I was home. At least I got to sleep in and I was able to watch Austria kick ass at ski jumping (Vierschanzentournee!!!). Yay!

I'm also quite enjoying the new WoW expansion that came out last November. It's really fun and the garrison stuff is pretty cool, although quite time consuming. However the Molten Core run I did was awful, it took ages and we wiped constantly. At least I got my Core Hound mount. It looks hilarious when my little gnome rides it. Heh.

I booked my flights for Fedcon in May and for the Queen + Adam Lambert concert in Frankfurt. So excited for it!

About space goats...

Blizzard announced the next WoW expansion, which is called Warlords of Draenor.

(Source.)

Not so sure about going to Draenor, I never liked Outland all that much. But I'm excited for the new character models. It's high time for that! I'm a bit surprised that they're raising the level cap to 100. They only raised it 5 levels each for the last two expansions.

six's sexy legs

May I never miss a sunset or a rainbow because I am looking down.

I finally got my first two massages this past week and they were so good, but way too short! I got them early in the morning, which is really nice, but especially on Friday it made me drowsy as hell. And then I got a headache and for once I decided to leave work early. Hah!

For a little over a week now the fan of my graphics card has been very loud, especially when I first start the computer. Sometimes it quiets down again, but sometimes not. It's very disconcerting, but I tried to ignore it as much as possible. Well, until yesterday, because then the the monitor turned black twice while I was playing WoW. Rebooting the computer worked, but I couldn't play anymore. Woe!

Things like that always happen on the weekend! Because it was already so late, I couldn't go out and buy a new graphics card anymore. And of course, around here, stores are closed on Sundays. I will buy a new graphics card tomorrow after work with the help of my brother, who hopefully will also put it into my computer.

Of course, now that I know I can't play WoW, I really, really want to. Even though sometimes I go days without opening the game. DDD:

I just want it to work again! *whines* At least, I can do normal things on my computer without the graphics card overheating.

On the upside! I finally booked my flights for Fedcon! Whee!

And! Camp Sparkle is a go! Booked my flights and everything and this year we're going to Brighton! :D I can't wait to see everyone again!
sheepy wants to give you a flower

It's okay if you mess up. You should give yourself a break.

In the past week I went to the cinema for the first time this year. Unlike my usual cinema times, it wasn't a Sneak Preview. S and I watched Jack Reacher, which was quite boring to be honest and nothing what the trailer promised. Woe!

I haven't read any of the Jack Reacher books, but I still found it all kinds of amusing that a character who is described as being over 6 feet tall is played by Tom Cruise. Hah!

That was on Monday and Tuesday evening I met up with an old friend from primary school. She's pretty much the only one I'm still sort of in touch with and actually see at least once a year. Although, I think we haven't managed to meet last year. Anyway, it was quite fun, we went out to dinner and the food was very good. She's a very, very talkative person and you can't help talking a lot as well just to get a few words in. Heh. It was nice, but I was pretty much talked out when I got home that evening.

Wednesday marked the day that the lady boss came back to work from her vacation. I was so relieved, because I hate dealing with all the whiny people in our department in her absence. Wah! And of course I immediately asked if I can have a few days off in compensation for my cancelled holiday after New Years! So, yes, I've been off since Thursday and I'm going back to work on Tuesday! So needed that!

Thursday, I pretty much slept and read and that was all. Didn't even leave my flat, not even to go to my mailbox!

Friday evening I went to T and M's place for a game evening. It was pretty much the usual Sneak Preview crowd with two additional people and it was quite fun. We played The Settlers of Catan, which was only my second time playing (first time being at New Year's Eve) and I lost tragically.
After that there was food and another game called Nobody Is Perfect. Fun game, but again I didn't win. (But I didn't lose either!)

Somewhere in between I also played a bit of WoW, not that much, but I finally managed to get my third character to level 90. Yay.
naked books (geneli4)

When a man is wrapped up in himself, he makes a pretty small package.

For the longest time, my mother only played Solitaire on her computer. But now she's apparently addicted to Plants vs. Zombies. Talked to her on the phone just now and she was distracted, because she was playing the game. So strange!

I finally managed to raise my second WoW toon to 90, getting me the [Dynamic Duo] and the [Double Agent] achievement. Wanted those from the start! :D

Next levelling project is probably going to be my rogue. Maybe. Or someone else.

After 6 weeks, I finally got my new phone (iPhone 5) this week. It's so pretty and so, so fast compared to my old iPhone (it was a 3G model, so old that I couldn't update the iOS beyond 4.2). And getting all the data from my old phone to the new one was so easy. Yay. <333
morgana and uther (jadis_88)

The trouble with facts is that there are so many of them.

I've played so much WoW lately, it's ridiculous. Also, my head's spinning with all the dailies there are! Reputation grinds. Meh. I'm not very happy with the Klaxxi, an insect race and their constant bzzzzzzzz sounds. And I got stuck in amber for a little while. Made me think of Fringe.

I finally finished watching Teen Wolf, after I got spoiled all over the place. Was still nice to watch, though. But now what? I don't feel particularly fannish about it, it was cool to watch though. I think Derek should have his own mood theme, similar to the Teal'c mood theme that is out there. ;) But why Lacrosse???
life is banana

You are built not to shrink down to less but to blossom into more.

Things of note:

* I forgot so many times to inform you all about all things Robbie Williams (as if you care, but I care, and I still forgot!). So, here are the most important things:
- His new album "Take The Crown" will be out November 5th. It's already pre-ordered, of course. Wheee!
- The first single "Candy" is out (will be out in October) and you can watch the music video on Rob's site (it includes a version that is playable in Germany).
- He became a dad of a little girl on September 18th, here's a picture of Rob and little Theodora Rose. <333

* Mists of Pandaria (the next WoW expansion) launches at midnight. Can't play much tomorrow because I have to work and I'm going to the cinema in the evening. Woe! But probably best, because it'll be so crowded!

* My little Asura necromancer in Guild Wars 2 is now level 29 and she's still very fun to play. Although, I don't really have much time to devote to this game, it's still awesome in so many ways. And one of the NPCs for the Asura personal story quest is voiced by Felicia Day. <3

* Tonight I've confessed on Twitter that I've watched the first season of Teen Wolf. The first reply I got was just a "Hahahahaha" from [personal profile] bingeling.

* After winning the play-offs last year, the local hockey team didn't start that well into the new season. They've lost three games in a row. Woe!

* There was a MacGyver secret on Fandom Secrets and some people were surprised to realize that MacGyver and Jack O'Neill were both played by the same actor? How do people not know that??? mabiana suggested that it probably just makes us old for knowing that. Heh.
Anyway, I got nostalgic and went on YouTube to listen to the MacGyver intro theme (still so much love!!!) and watch that old Stargate gag thingy with Amanda Tapping. :DDD

* [personal profile] kriski is going to visit me for a few days! She'll arrive on Thursday and stay until Tuesday! Whee! Haven't seen her in so long. :D
lewis and hathaway (veradee - shareable)

If everything seems under control, you're not going fast enough.

There were a few things that I wanted to write about, but then I never did (the story of my LJ/DW life!). Oh well.

* One of my co-workers retired and she invited us out to dinner at a nice restaurant, where the food was delicious and then a group of guys out on a Polterabend (stag night) crashed our dinner and flirted and gave us shots and stuff. They were pretty hilarious and the soon-to-be-someone's-husband wore a bee costume!!! Poor guy. ;)

After dinner a few of us went out to the Altstadt (old town), which is pretty much just one bar after the other. We went to one bar, which was tiny and filled with smoke (still coughing thinking about it, also we don't have a general no smoking law here, woe!). I had one drink and then I went home, because ugh. The others went on to another bar that was just as tiny and filled with smoke (which is why I went home).

* OMG! Flashpoint is back! I love that show even though it makes me cry a lot. I heard it was to be the last season of the show. :(((

* Yesterday, I finished levelling my 7th level cap character in WoW! It's a resto druid, a tauren girl. :) I levelled her in a pair with liriel_'s orc warlock, good team, and Li seemed to be quite in awe that she managed to get a warlock to 85. ;)

And now I'll enjoy my 7 level 85 toons for three days (!) before the next expansion comes out and they raise the level cap to 90. Heh.
laughing cat

We're not lost. We're locationally challenged.

What I forgot to say, yesterday, was that on our way to the Klangwolke I managed to twist my right ankle and bang my left knee! Woe!

It's the same ankle where I've torn the ligaments a few years ago, which makes the whole thing not that great. Although, this time nothing seems to be torn, but it still hurts when I walk. And the knee is turning blue-ish, but it doesn't hurt that much. Except when I accidentally bang it again, which happens frequently.

The soles of two of my favorite pairs of shoes have gotten very thin and damaged and since those shoes were on the expensive side, I decided to get them repaired. And today I finally managed to go to the repair shop. Yay. I can wear the shoes again. The only downside is that they now have black soles instead of light ones. But you can't have everything!

I think I'm finally getting the hang of the new warlock rotation in WoW. I was so worried before the new patch came out that I'd start hating playing with my warlock, especially since she's my main and I love her. It's quite nice actually, affliction locks seem to have gotten a bit of burst damage. I went with Grimoire of Sacrifice and it's so weird to run around without a minion! A warlock without a minion! So strange!

I haven't really looked at any of my Horde toons yet, haven't re-spec'd them either (except for my druid). Maybe I should do that tomorrow or so.
lance eyes

We're all in this alone.

I've had an awful shitty day at work where I had a rather heated argument with some of the co-workers. And then I yelled and slammed the door and went to the toilet to cry. And then I had an argument with the lady boss and I wanted to cry some more (which I didn't).

And mostly I'm angry at myself/hate myself for yelling and crying. And yeah. Stupid day.

Then I came home and it was patch day on the EU servers for WoW and most addons don't work anymore and my stupid warlock has pink soulshards floating around her head now and I don't know anymore how to play her. I ran a dungeon and it was just awful. Haven't really looked at my other characters, except to log in for the account wide achievements.

For some reason the character screen looks all weird now. The skin tone of both my draenei is very purple looking and nothing like the skin tone I created them with (they are more blue-ish) and how they look when I log in. It's almost as if the contrast and color balance is different from before, but everything looks normal when I log into the game. It's just the character selection that's affected.

On the bright side, keksmitmilch is playing again and she's also in my guild now! :D
