chinese lantern (enriana)

I try to avoid looking backward and keep looking upward.

It's high time that I post about last weekend!

So, I went to visit mabiana and I had a lovely time visiting her! I love her place, even if it's on the top floor and the building doesn't have any lifts. But it's really nice and I love her plants in the bathroom and her balcony and everything.

Anyway, we had fantastic food over the course of the weekend. We went to great Thai restaurant Saturday evening and I had the most awesomest soup (tom kha het for the curious) ever. They had a fish pond inside the restaurant. Very cool.
Sunday we had Chinese and that was fantastic too! Om nom nom! All the food for me! :D

Hah, I made Mabiana watch an episode of Teen Wolf that was on just the moment she turned on the TV! Whoops. I also stole lots of Mabiana's wifi. I'm such a terrible houseguest!!!

The Robbie Williams concert was Sunday evening and it was pretty awesome!

Olly Murs set was really nice, even though I pretty much only know a couple of his songs. Best part was, though, when he ripped his trousers sometime during the first three songs or so. It ripped right down the middle of his ass! Hehe. He was quite embarrassed, but he didn't leave to change and once in a while he wiggled his behind towards us so that we could see his underwear (it was black). ;D

Rob was fantastic! There isn't really much to say, but that, because once you've seen him on stage you know the kind of entertainer he is. And he's got an amazing stage presence, not many have that. <333

The only downside was, when Rob brought the girl up on stage (he picks a girl every show) and after he asked where she was from, the whole stadium boo'd when she said she was from Austria. Not gonna lie, but I was pretty angry at her behalf. I can't remember that the Vienna crowd (listened to that concert on the radio) doing that when that girl said that she was from, I believe, the Czech Republic. She looked pretty taken aback, but good thing Robbie is Robbie and he managed to turn that around pretty quickly. But still, it still makes me go "ugh" when I think about it.

The other downside was that the security at the stadium took Mabiana's pocket umbrella and then they threw it away. Grrrr. I do get that they don't want possible weapons in the stadium during a concert, but a) they weren't really thorough during the security searches (ie they didn't notice/take away her pocket knife!) and b) they could have easily put all the things they took into a big bin for people to collect after the concert.

But other than that, the concert was really nice! And we had great seats! :D

At one point during the weekend we watched season 1 episodes of MacGyver, which was pretty awesome. Also, so damn funny! There was one episode that was set in Budapest and at one point they had a car chase through the city and then all of a sudden they crossed the border to Austria! Heh.

The train rides there and back home weren't as boring as in the past. I bought new tablets that work really, really well against motion sickness. So, I was able to read, which is very awesome! :D \o/

Maybe I should go and get myself a paid DW account again. Only having the same 15 icons is very limiting, especially when I don't even have my Robbie icon here. D:

Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think.

Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.

* I haven't been on Tumblr in over a week and I don't really miss it much. At this point, I'm never going to catch up (not that I was ever able to catch up with Tumblr). To me it's only good for pretty pictures anyway. I hate reading stories or meta or anything else on it.

* It's been so incredibly hot here in the past few weeks and I hate it with a passion. To me anything over 20-25°C is awful. It has been over 30-35°C on a regular basis. Last week they recorded the hottest temperature in Austria ever, it was 39,9°C (luckily not where I am, but still). They expect to get close or break that sometime this week again.

I've never worn so many dresses and skirts like this year. And people keep being surprised to see me wear dresses and skirts! And they give me compliments! It's weird. On the other hand, some of those have an added "you're so brave wearing that". Newsflash; even fat people with flabby arms can wear dresses! And sometimes it even looks good! Who knew???

* I haven't read a (real) book in months! Instead I've been reading lots and lots of Teen Wolf fanfiction. Wohoo! Who needs books if they have Derek and Stiles pining for each other?

Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that a huge sign that I'm falling out of a fandom is the moment I start readings lots of books. Lots of books for me, because I'm probably never going to outgrow the slow reader thing.

So last year, I've been reading more books than usual: the year I fell out of Merlin fandom. Now, no books in sight: Hello there, Teen Wolf! Wohoo!

* Next weekend I'm going to visit mabiana and Sunday evening we're going to see Robbie Williams in concert! Wohoo! Can't wait! :D

Me and my Monkey

What am I doing right now? If you've guessed that I'm sitting in front of my computer listening to Robbie Williams' live concert in Vienna on the radio, then you'd be guessing right!

It's almost as good as actually being there! And it's a great way to get prepared for Rob's concert that I'm actually going to see next month with mabiana.

Just listening to this man makes me all tingly all over! It'll be quite overwhelming when I'm seeing him on stage. Can't wait!

I like work: it fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.

The pre-sale for tickets for Robbie Williams' stadium tour next year started today and of course I just had to get my hands on them! Because Rob! Whee!

So, I tried to get tickets at work (don't tell the lady boss), spent about a million hours in the queue and finally managed to get tickets for mabiana and me! :DDD

It's gonna be the fourth time I'm seeing him in concert. Saw him twice solo and once with Take That. I just can't stay away from this guy! So exciting! :D

Oh, oh, and I want to pimp mfac! It's saba1789's multi-fandom advent calendar and it's going to be awesome like in the past few years! There will be pictures and recs, guest entries and lots of other stuff! So check it out, it's one of my advent highlights every year! :D
life is banana

You are built not to shrink down to less but to blossom into more.

Things of note:

* I forgot so many times to inform you all about all things Robbie Williams (as if you care, but I care, and I still forgot!). So, here are the most important things:
- His new album "Take The Crown" will be out November 5th. It's already pre-ordered, of course. Wheee!
- The first single "Candy" is out (will be out in October) and you can watch the music video on Rob's site (it includes a version that is playable in Germany).
- He became a dad of a little girl on September 18th, here's a picture of Rob and little Theodora Rose. <333

* Mists of Pandaria (the next WoW expansion) launches at midnight. Can't play much tomorrow because I have to work and I'm going to the cinema in the evening. Woe! But probably best, because it'll be so crowded!

* My little Asura necromancer in Guild Wars 2 is now level 29 and she's still very fun to play. Although, I don't really have much time to devote to this game, it's still awesome in so many ways. And one of the NPCs for the Asura personal story quest is voiced by Felicia Day. <3

* Tonight I've confessed on Twitter that I've watched the first season of Teen Wolf. The first reply I got was just a "Hahahahaha" from [personal profile] bingeling.

* After winning the play-offs last year, the local hockey team didn't start that well into the new season. They've lost three games in a row. Woe!

* There was a MacGyver secret on Fandom Secrets and some people were surprised to realize that MacGyver and Jack O'Neill were both played by the same actor? How do people not know that??? mabiana suggested that it probably just makes us old for knowing that. Heh.
Anyway, I got nostalgic and went on YouTube to listen to the MacGyver intro theme (still so much love!!!) and watch that old Stargate gag thingy with Amanda Tapping. :DDD

* [personal profile] kriski is going to visit me for a few days! She'll arrive on Thursday and stay until Tuesday! Whee! Haven't seen her in so long. :D
kommt und besucht mal barbapapa

No matter how old you are, there's always something good to look forward to.

So it seems that Robbie Williams' next music video will involve knights that are angels. Or something like that. ILU, Rob! <333

Friday and Saturday was festival in town with many different bands of various genres playing at multiple locations around town. The Rasmus played Saturday night and I went to see them, which was really nice. The concert was quite good. Wasn't sure what to expect since free concerts attract all kinds of people, but the crowd was nice too. :)

And yesterday there was an atheltics meeting in town and I got free tickets from my work place, so I went to that as well. There were some big names there (don't want to know how much it cost to get them there, hehe), like Kirani James (400 m Olympic Champion) and Oscar Pistorius. Félix Sánchez (400 m hurdles Olympic Champion) competed as well. Justin Gatlin was there too, but he couldn't compete because of food poisoning.

James and Sánchez won their runs, of course. And Benson Seurei ran a new year's best at the 1000 m.

The whole thing was quite nice and I saw Kirani James and Oscar Pistorius run! That was the main reason I went there. :) So, so much luck for Oscar at the Paralympics! :)

Everyone has a purpose in life. Perhaps yours is watching television.

- Robbie Williams is going to be a dad! This news makes me all warm inside! <333

- The Black Wings (my home hockey team) won their 4th playoff game last night. Wohoo! They won the championships! :D

- We used to get a day off on Good Friday, but a few months ago they took that away. I have to work on Friday. Woe!
robbie has no regrets

Let me entertain you

I've thought long and hard about it. The decision hasn't come easy, but I can't go on like this. I need to stop and think about myself. First he goes off and marries another woman and then he reforms with his old band. I just can't deal with it anymore. Enough is enough.

I'm breaking up with you, Robbie Williams! *sniffles*

The worst thing you can possibly do is worrying and thinking about what you could have done.

I got some more holiday cards this past week! Snail mail was very slow, because I think all of them were sent before Christmas! So, thank you so much meelie, turps33, tikiaceae and ramblinround! *hugs you all*

And I got a postcard from London from stellamira as well! Thank you! *hugs*

First week of work in the new year done and over and it was a good, quiet week. Hopefully the rest of the year will be the same!

The Four Hills Tournament (ski jumping) ended this week as well, which was quite the triumph for the Austrian jumpers! Whee! Go Thomas Morgenstern, go! :-D

franzi1981 wrote me Mark Owen/Robbie Williams slash!!! It's awesome and you can read it here! Thank you again! ♥♥♥

And I may have to go to Fedcon this year as well! Damn you, Wil Wheaton! *shakes fist*
