Homer & Flanders

Moondancer - 3: Ansuz

Carrying on from before, I'm working on this again :)

1: Naudhiz
2: Ehwaz

Water. Every night this week Anni had dreamed of it. It wasn’t the warm, salty water of the sea outside her little house, it was cold and slow. She had always considered herself to be fairly patient, but this vision was beginning to infuriate her. The river flowed over rocks and tiny creatures, fallen leaves travelled along the surface and fish danced in the currents. Every single night. Just as she felt a surge of power and anticipated the discovery of something wonderful, the vision ended and she was staring at her own surroundings once again. Tonight, however, was different. This time she saw a woman standing alone in the shallow, cool water. Her skin was the whitest Anni had ever seen before, and her long pale blue hair flowed like the river itself. But then, Anni realised, it was the river.

Moondancer - 2: Ehwaz

Just a short one... the start of the book will be short introductions to the main characters before the story really begins :)

The sun was shining through the cracks in the boarded-up window, making Emma long to be at the stables. She enjoyed working there, and she was always allowed to ride the horses once she had finished working. When she took the job she was told if she wanted to ride she would have to pay like everyone else, but soon everyone began to notice how much calmer the horses were when Emma was around, and so much more well-behaved. Even with Eraxus, the unruly Palomino whose snow-coloured mane mirrored Emma’s own hair. He was her favourite horse, and she would give anything to be with him now. There was a sense of belonging, an understanding without words.

Emma glared down at the soapy water in the sink and began to scrub the nearest plate.

“I’m ho-ooooome!

Buffy love like magic

Moondancer - 1: Naudhiz

So this book is sort of a prequel to Check - it takes place in the same world but hundreds of years before that story. I'm looking forward to working on it :)

PS. Happy New Year :)

Intro here

With one more day to go until Beltane, Naula stared into her mirror. She looked perfectly normal for a Moondancer with slightly pointed ears and wide eyes. Her hair was summer skies, her skin moonlight. She looked just like those in their twenties, yet felt alienated.

These eyes had seen too much.

These bones had outlived too many.

Today was her four hundred and eighteenth birthday, or alledden as the Moondancers said.

Buffy love like magic

I do want to finish the Black Rose, and I will, but writing it is a bit emotionally draining at times! Right now I wanted a bit of fantasy, something that's entirely fiction and not just partially. So I decided to start work on something else, and this is the intro...

Oh and Happy New Year!

A heavy purple fog settled around the customers in Brackenrig’s bar, conveniently obscuring their features. The place was frequented by magical types, but mainly those intent on keeping out of the public eye. One such man entered on a quiet night twenty-eight days after the festival of Ostara. He was dressed in a dark green shirt, mostly concealed by a well-worn black leather coat that fell to his heavy boots. Those who could see his face through the fog would guess he was young from the lack of wrinkles, but would also say he seemed wiser than most men in their thirties: it was something in the cold, dark eyes.
