Fic: The Hunger (DCU, PG13)

Title: The Hunger
Rating: PG13?
Fandom: DCU (Flashpoint timeline)
Author Notes: Based on "Flashpoint: Grodd of War #1"

Information is power; what was once insight is now axiom, and in his quest to keep America alive Cyborg needs all the power, and hence all the information, he can get.

That is why there is now an hyper-resolution satellite over Gorilla Africa, exploring in detail everything that can be seen from the sky. Biosignal sensors lock into their target, and adaptive optics record Grodd as he kills and eats the last sentient being in Africa other than himself, a hard-eyed child who seconds ago was holding a broken knife in his hand.

The satellite watches Grodd spit his meal’s blood over its corpse and start his thousand mile walk toward Asia.

There’s a clear distaste in Cyborg’s face as he disconnects himself from the satellite signal. Grodd has to be stopped, preferably long before he reaches American soil.

With less than a thought, he starts accessing the nanocybernetic interfaces he has placed in the brains of thousands of soldiers, scientists, businesspeople, and politicians, activating plans for the further expansion of his stealth network. He needs all the power he can get.

It has been months since he was in a room where there was nothing that wasn’t also part of himself.

*frustrated headdesk* Not what I intended to write. Fuck you, Bruce.

Title: Final Crisis Aftermath: No Escape
Rating: PG13
Fandom: DCU
Word count: Damn'd low.

Flames, darkness, despair. An eternal war devoid of innocents. Hell has all of those things.Collapse )

Title: The Call
Rating: PG13 (dammit! I suck at this, it should at least be an R!)
Fandom: DC AU.
Author Notes: DC Comics meets Lovecraft again, only this time in a slightly darker way (not as dark, of course, as it could be, this being Gotham and all.)

Something lifts him by an ankle, picking him off the alley faster than he can scream.Collapse )

It's been a while, hasn't it?

Title: Shards of Night
Fandom: DC AU. Well, hopefully AU.
Rating: PG13 (because I didn't try harder?)
Author Notes: Dedicated to razorsmile, who came up with the idea, and outlawpoet, who both fleshed out and betaed it.

They knew he was going to be different from the moment they opened the small spaceship. How could it be otherwise?Collapse )

Fic: Recruitment (PG13, DCU/Other)

Title: Recruitment
Rating: PG13
Fandom: DCU/Other
Author Notes: Written for penknife's TV Tropes Challenge. The trope is the Lost World. Feels more like a prologue than a finished fic; sorry about that, the muses were cryptic on this one.

The first step was getting into orbit. That was easy. The second step would be the difficult one.Collapse )

Fic: Accounts Receivable (PG13, DCU)

Title: Accounts Receivable
Rating: PG13
Fandom: DCU
Author Notes: Very self-indulgent.

I am not a warrior, but I come from a family and land of dealers of death.Collapse )

Fic: Beyond the night (PG13, DCU)

I don't know what got into me. It's not that I don't (often) write fics like this, it's just that I usually do in on purpose. This one just had its way with me.

Title: Beyond the night
Rating: PG13
Fandom: DCU
Summary: For some people there's no such thing as giving up.

A mad clown. A shot. A life ended.Collapse )

And because I was in one of those moods, I had to continue.Collapse )

Fic: The Strategy of Time (PG13, DCU)

Title: The Strategy of Time
Rating: PG13
Author Notes: Loosely based on the current Booster Gold storyline. Maybe? For boredom_doodles, who writes the best Booster out there.

Hunter says its actually a compliment.Collapse )

Fic: Preemptive (DCU, PG13)

Title: Preemptive
Fandom: DCU
Rating: PG13
Summary: Everything can be a tool when handled in the right way.
Author Notes: For odditycollector. Not quite OTP-ish, so let me know if you want a rewrite.

The datastream seems to come from the empty vacuum itself. It takes the son of Dox hours to conclude that it comes from the past.Collapse )
