Beta request

Maybe I should scrap this one. I don't know. But at least it's one possible rendering of the idea, and I'd like to make it posteable. It's a Dune/Firefly crossover for Multiverse 2009, PG13, four hundred words long.

Help would be most appreciated.

Beta request

It's for one of my Multiverse 2009 fics:

The prompt: Dune/Invader Zim: Zim tries to invade Dune and discovers Spice. Meanwhile, Gir picks a fight with a sandworm.

The fic as it stands is about 1600 words. It's PG13, although there probably should be a warning about possibly triggering weight issues (i.e., there are a couple of jokes about Baron Harkonnen).

Pretty please? With a drabble on top, if you want it.

Star Trek beta request

Four hundred words long and PG13, it's mostly the concept pitch of a series I'd love to watch. Caveat Beta: It has nothing to do with the upcoming movie. Timeline-wise, it's at least contemporary with Voyager, and it features no character from any of the series.

Hmm. Not exactly the words to entice a producer, right?

Anyway, comment if you'd like to take a look at it. I don't have access to gold-pressed latinum, but I can pay with the Federation coin of appreciation and goodwill.

Beta request

It's for a Fantastic Four ficlet. No particular moment in continuity, and only involves the FF w/mentions of Doom.

Ain't it the truth...

Nothing defines humans better than their willingness to do irrational things in the pursuit of phenomenally unlikely payoffs. This is the principle behind lotteries, dating, and religion.

--- Scott Adams

The emphasis on dating is mine. If that doesn't describe my so-called love life, I don't know what does... [1]

* * *

Sometime in the near future[2] I'm going to need a beta for a DC AU short fic[3]. Anybody interested?

[1] ETA: On further reflexion, that's actually progress of sorts; I used to not bother even trying[4].

[2] No idea of when, though. I've already written and then scrapped the whole thing three times, each with wildly different plots.

[3] It's another Lovecraftian take, but probably not directly related to the ones I posted before.

[4] Not that it isn't a valid choice. But I do have a bad habit of complaining about lack of results in things I didn't really try, so all things considered, doing irrational things in the pursuit of phenomenally unlikely payoffs might be a good development for me.

SGA beta request

I've started to write an SGA fic because... well, it comes down to me being my usual silly self, really. Anyway, I'm going to need a lot of help on this one; I'd like not only to get the text betaed as I write it, but to discuss a bit about the characters and plot beforehand. I want to get this right.
