Hours to crack the security protocols. Minutes for the contents to seed a gestalt in his mind.
It's a mirror. Like all mirrors, it distorts as much as it reflects, but the similarities are orders of magnitude too accurate for the hypothesis of an accident to be tenable. He has been brought here with a purpose, implying a conscious agent with the boldness and resources to kidnap a very specific individual across dimensional barriers. He doesn't have enough data for a proper forensic analysis, but he suspects...
Bruce Wayne. His fixation with the Chiroptera order aside, he knows this man better than the data should allow. Too much to ignore him, way too much to trust him.
"Be brief. I have work to do in my own universe."
The man nods, and the part of his brain Simon has trained for intuitional pattern matching tells him that they have just as many scars, and perhaps even in similar places.
"I need help." It was already the only possible inference, so Simon doesn't bother commenting on it.
The man uses a control device in his belt, making the computer play a file. Simon calmly takes in every data point and profile extrapolation.
"He calls himself the Batman. I need you to keep him distracted while I do what he won't."
Above them, the empty halls of Arkham rested quietly, like a fulfilled promise.
