Not my fault.

At all.

"We do have Batman in IC, don't we?"

Wilson. House swore under his breath, but didn't bother to raise his eyes from the GameBoy.

"Actually, he is my latest attempt to find a nurse you won't try to to cheat on your wife with. Is it working?"

In case of doubt, draw blood.

Wilson just sat in front of him, dammit.

"Cuddy told me that Superman will be coming soon to pick him up." "Superman," he added, as if that meant something but just another symptom of how... disorganized the whole thing had become.

"Assuming he exists," answered House, in a hopeless attempt to divert him, to stop him from asking the questions he might ask.

"House, where do you know Batman from?"

Ah. Not a bad question, but not the right one, either.

"Who told you I know him?"

"Ted from ER told me that he tried to grab your hand."

"He also called me 'Tim'. And bled profusely from a significant number of bullet wounds. Extreme loss of blood, shock, pain. Those things do tend to confuse people, don't they."

"That's true," said Wilson in his most smug tone. "But he was looking directly at you; no symptoms of even partial loss of cognitive function. And you have been playing the first level of that game for the last ten minutes, and it never takes you more than two."

"House, why did Batman call you Tim?"

Still the wrong question, but closer.

"I told you, he was in shock."

"But is it your name?"

House rose from his chair and started woobling towards the door.

"No," he said without turning back.

In case of doubt, tell the truth.

Oh. my. god.

I've watched only about two episodes of House, but this just... gah.

I'd heard the show described as "Batman meets ER," but hey, Timmy works too. Except House is too tall. ;-)

Details *g*.

Glad you liked it! My House watching has been quite limited, too, so characterization... well, let us hope. The important thing to me was to get the damn bunny out of my head :)

Ah, well, he just hit his growth spurt after it was too late to do him any good as a vigilante. Just another thing to be bitter about. ;-)

Details keep bubbling up inside my brain. You know how House loves to watch medical soap operas? I think Ms Mac used to watch them a lot while babysitting Tim when he was a wee boy, and he got used to thinking through things while watching them (I lie, he really watches them because they make him feel a bit like home, but he lies to himself, too, so that's ok).

He seldom gets a break, does he? I'd feel much guiltier about this if I werent working on my 'ship manifesto to pair him with Cass :).

Glad you liked it!

While thete1 has been squeeing about this show for weeks, I've been promptly sticking my fingers in my ears doing a *nnanannaicanthearyou*.

But now. I must watch. I don't need more fandom people!

You've got me peeked.

Heh, don't worry, it's a sort of in-joke. Most everybody reading this is a Batman comics fan (that is 99% of everything I write :) ) and, well, short version:

* The current Robin is called Tim Drake.

* He is smart, earnest, and an awesome detective.

* In one "possible future story" thing, he got... well, bad things happened to him, and he had to quit.

* So I had the attack of the crazies idea: what if he got busted on a leg, had to quit, and decided to study medicine? (he's still young enough). He'd be bitter, snarky, all Battish, and would pretty much be like House in a lot of ways.

Except that he's probably not going to be as tall as House is, but this is comics and TV... we can hadnwave those details away. :)

So that's pretty much it. I didn't give all this info in the fic because I never assumed anybody else (i.e., a non-comics fan) would read it :D I'm kind of at a loss as from how you found it, but very happy that you did.

Hope this made it look slightly less insane! :P

ol, omg I'm not so sure about the less insane, but I won't go there...I made a post in the house/wilson community a while back for crossovers and someone left a comment with this fic, and a couple others..another one by...you, I think...lol and then one from ff.n so yeah, that's how I found it, and at least I'm less *confused* not so much insane...(I don't think that one will ever lessen...damn...lol)
