She found him sitting on a couch, quietly bleeding as if he were waiting for something to happen. She sat on one of the couch's arms, resting a hand on his forehead.
"Not a good first night in Gotham, was it?"
He grimaced through the pain. "No... No magic, Zanna."
She smiled. "Save it for Alfred, Bruce." She mumbled something and he sighed deeply.
"You won't die now. You could look happier."
He rose from the couch and walked toward a window wall. "It's not that. I had hoped that what I learned would help me somehow... I don't know. Help Gotham."
Zatanna hugged him from behind. "I miss my father, too. I'm happy you were there for me."
He smiled over his shoulder. "I'm glad you were there for me, too. I had thought I'd be alone forever."
"You? Never." She smiled and tugged his hand. "We'll discuss what to do with Gotham later. Now let's do some magic."
He raised an eyebrow. "I'm not sure Alfred would approve of sex in the studio."
"Alfred wants a heir for the Waynes, he'll cope."
Some time later, a bat hovered near the window for a few seconds and went away.
