proof Marcelo needs to take a few days off
Normally I would be appalled by the disorder in this office, mountains of files precariously supporting each other. I'm very fond of neat workspaces.
But I'm willing to make an exception in this case. These are the files of one of the country's most brilliant and experienced forensic pathologists. There must be thousands of murder methods documented here that even *I* have never considered. The things I could learn.
I can barely restrain my excitement.
"Clean that up and sit down."
He's pointing toward a chair covered with reference blades. I think I recognize maybe half of them.
"Yes, sir". The regular pill-popping must be a local custom. "So... what happened to my predecessor?"
"My last assistant? He ended up in Arkham."
"Nah, just kidding. He was adopted by a single thirty-something billionaire."
"I never judge people. Specially insane ones with lawyers. Ever worked in Gotham before?"
"Can't say I have, Dr. House."
"You look crazy enough. I think you'll love being a CSI here, Dexter."
I think he's right.
