One of my more life-threatening quirks is that seeing somebody do something extraordinary with skill and gusto makes me want to do the same thing (this sole fact explains practically everything I've done in my life, from hobbies to career choices).

Right now, I'm afraid, I want to be a TV talking head. Or at least write for one.

God. He doesn't say anything that wasn't blindingly obvious to anybody who even spends a few minutes a day cruising the net for news -thus begetting the question of why he hasn't been saying this for longer- but nonetheless, and I repeat the expression again because I love it and because it's Calvin's, the sheer *gusto* of it! This was a person who *meant* what he was saying.

Ganked from Warren Ellis, who wondered if it was a CGI fixup...

Wow. That was passionate. And...completely unexpected. True, this is stuff that should have been said long, long ago, but the fact that they stood up and said it is still pretty impressive.

*nods* People being passionate in that precise, controlled way blow me away.

I was on the g-w boards where someone posted a link to this with a similar caption, and I thought, "Hey, a heterosexual male comics fan! I should try to fix him up with Marcelo!" And then I remembered the meaning of the word 'heterosexual.'

It's the thought what counts. :P

::happy sigh:: I do so adore Olbermann (I can't remember how to spell his name though...) :) and I must note that he *has* been saying this, and things like it, for quite a long time. At least a few years. MSNBC has let him get away with calling W all kinds of names. ::loves him::

It's not a fixup. It's exactly what he said.

He rocks like a gigantic rocking thing. Seriously. I fangirl him like nobody's business.

Wow. I admit to knowing little if anything about American journalism, but he's seriously channelling Edward R. Murrow, there.

Yeah, very much. Did you see the recent movie? If so, would you recommend it?

BTW, I love your icon. *g*

You mean Good Night and Good Luck? Oh, hell yeah. It's a wonderful piece of work, thoughtful and thankfully quite un-Hollywood. Even from just a technical perspective, it's an excellent movie.

Hee! I do love Calvin and Hobbes.
