Five villains Tim Drake never worked with, even in Timfinity, requested by katarik

Disclaimer: I did a quick check of the Timfinity archive and LJ comm, my apologies if I'm accidentally replicating a premise.

Young Timothy Drake watched from across the chasm as his "mentor" fell to a certain death. The most basic of loyalties would impel him to see that his killer, now leaving the scene, met his punishment.

Drake smiled thinly. He owed no loyalty to the man who had used him as an spy, messenger, depraved gift and, twice, as an assassin. He had done his job, pocketed his pay and learned what he could, which had been much.

Now that Moriarty was dead it was time to start business on his own.

* * *

I will not shoot, he thought, and smelled the powder.

The Joker laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and it was him and laughed and laughed

* * *

He's about eighty five percent sure that Tao's plans are, objectively and despite the entity's capabilities for behavior manipulation, the most logical way to achieve long-term global stability. That's enough to warrant working for him.

It's not enough to let him sleep easily at night, but he's too busy anyway.

* * *

"All I'm saying is that raising their food rations will improve factory productivity, which we need to accelerate our weapons upgrade cycle."

"What you propose is impiety! Weakness! Degradation! Their wretchedness is their tribute! You..."

"Pay attention to the human cub, Desaad. Strength is the only definition of the sacred."

"As your will rules, glorious Darkseid."

* * *

He'd have gone with his parents to the circus, but he was too close to finally breaking into LexCorp's inner databases, so he faked an illness and stayed at home.

He knew the Flying Graysons were supposed to be awe-inspiring, but Tim realized it had been worth missing them when the Brainiac code started talking to him.

Cringe-inducingly horrible or blindingly awesome? I say both.

I don't know who #3 is but #4 is scary in so very many ways (thought I think that #5 is probably the scariest of the lot.)

#3 is Tao, a bad guy in the Wildstorm universe (he played a huge role in the "Sleeper" title, which, while running, was IMHO one of the best things going on in comics).

#5 is scary indeed. I have a few ideas about what'd happen afterward, but I thought it'd work better if it were left to the reader's imagination *g*.

Glad you liked them!

#5 is...is...HAWT. I love Tim's g33k side more than anything, and Tim+Brainiac is a total orgasm of g33kness. Hm, someone should write Tim/Brainiac 5. Go forth!

Tim/Brainiac 5. Hmmm. *ponders* Yeah, I can see that working. Besides,
they both have a very... pragmatic approach to things. *g*

EEEEEEEE! OMG Moriarty! Tim and Moriarty and and!!!!!!! And then he'd match wits with Holmes and EEEEEEE OMGOMGOMG *FLAILS*!!!! *spazzes*

The rest are awesome, too, especially the third one, because damn, that is just such a Tim thing to do, isn't it, because it's the most logical thing to do and Timmy ♥ and the last one is just scary, but omg, the first one fills me with such glee!

I just keep seeing him dressed neatly in the period fashion, delivering notes and taking messages and just. *fears the Drake boy*

Holmes might posssibly end up being more appalled by Tim than he ever was by Moriarty.

The worst part of these is that, someday, Mary will read them. And she may decide to have two of these Tims *meet*. Even if they didn't join forces, --EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Wow. I especially like the Darkseid one--*giggles at it just a tad*.

And I'd love to see more of the Sherlock Holmes-era Tim

Wow. I especially like the Darkseid one--*giggles at it just a tad*. :D. The nice thing about the "Five Things" format is that I didn't have to come up with an explanation for that.

And I'd love to see more of the Sherlock Holmes-era Tim I don't quite dare writing more, because the average fic quality in the Holmes fandom is so intimidatingly high, but the idea did cross my mind. He'd give Holmes a new nemesis, and I wonder how the age side of things would hit him. Just keeping Drake from executing his schemes wouldn't be enough. He has to stop him for good, otherwise, eventually Holmes will get too old, and then who will stand between Drake and London, nay, the Empire?

MORIARTY.

Oh oh OH.

I don't actually know who Tao is.

BRAINIAC. FLYING GRAYSONS. LEXCORP. OMG.

Joker!

DARKSEID.

I don't actually know who Tao is. Bad guy in the Wildstorm universe, a sort of super-manipulator pulling the strings behind the courtains. I met and fell in love with him reading Sleeper, where he plays a huge role.

Tim should always work for Brainiac. Always.

Except when he's working for Oracle. And even then!

:D During a brief spell there in BoP, doing both at the same time would have been rather easy :).

But you a right. Tim would have been fascinated by (imprinted on?) Brainiac, and if he could convince it to steal information piecemeal instead of doing away with the planet, it might have been an interesting collaboration. Or heck, Tim steals the code for Brainiac, realizes that there is a part missing (the "ego function"), and is so fascinated by the possibilities of an AI that he manages to use the data in kryptonian tech to get his hands on a neural implant running the Brainiac code around his own personality.

Instant Tim with Brainiac's raw processing power and knowledge.

He... is the Oracle?

That last one? Whoa.

Makes me sad, though. Wee!Tim never imprinting on Dick.

*nods* It's downright tragic, although not always necessarily in a Pareto sense.
