Like now.

Learn something new every day
I did not know that the real Lady Liberty has a broken shackle around her ankle.

......

And it is a sign of the life I live that the first thing I thought of next was how the designer said he modeled it on his mother and how this could ALL be seen under dirty sex stuff..

Uh oh, time for a ramblerant...
Jeez. I mean... Jeez.

How the heck would that help win anyone to Christ (this is my first thought, from the Christian perspective) or tell them about His redeeming love? It seems a lot more focused on "these are our political beliefs, and that's what we want to be known for" (even though Jesus himself said Christians are to be known by their love and compassion for one another and for the lost) and "look at how much money we can spend on meaningless gestures" than on what is Truth; which I personally believe to be not a doctrinal statement, but tied up with the Persons of God -- Christian Trinity -- as Rich Mullins said, "Truth is a Person, and he lived and died and rose again almost 2000 years ago" (slight paraphrase) -- and the primary characteristic of God is Unconditional Fatherly Love. As a Christian, seeing those claiming to be my brothers and sisters in that Love doing this sort of stuff breaks my heart (especially at 4:18 AM, ha!). Agh.

74 freaking feet high?

Ok, that's enough of that... I can't even order my thoughts properly at this time. I'm sure it wasn't very clear.

Which bad preapocalyptic movie were you referring to?

I... yeah. To everything you said.

It's a bit weird, but the movie that first came to mind was "Escape from Los Angeles". And of course "Planet of the Apes" - every movie with a radically changed Statue of Liberty calls to mind "Planet of the Apes" :)
