Not my fault

Not spoilery for Robin #150/#151, as much as the first second of probably many attempts to retcon some sense into it.

Warning: Crack. Perhaps even worse crack that Robin #150/#151.

Prelude to a chaste goodbye kiss.

"You killed Shiva."

"It was... my choice."

"Not if you were wearing your uniform, it wasn't!"

"I wasn't. Won't."

"It wasn't an option open to you anyway, you realize that?"

"Yes. I'm sorry."

"'Sorry' isn't going to be enough, Cass."

"Not for... that. Will miss you."

"Get out of my plane, Cassandra."

* * *

Epilogue to a chaste goodbye kiss.

Twenty three hours later, the Brainiac virus exploded in Cassandra's brain. It was words. It was anger. It was loneliness.

"I should share this with Robin," she said aloud suddenly. An startled pigeon flew into the sky.

Lol, weeee!

This is going to turn into a meme, isn't it? Everybody is Slade/Brainiac did it/Cain trained him. It would bring some sense into DC, at any rate.

I love your brain. I'll give it cookies and pet it and call it George.

I'm blaming your highly inspiring icon :)
Glad you liked it! (And thanks for the cookies, says George)

It should be an Elseworld, at least! Cain and Slade are brothers, and have been waging against other for decades a hidden proxy war for world domination, with the rule that they can't fight each other directly, only using people they have trained or conned into existing. Cain planted the "Batman" idea in Bruce's subconscious, knew Cass would escape him, etc, while Slade has been behind the "origin stories" of many other people in both sides. Cain favors shaping people (training, post-hypnosis, etc), while Slade favors impersonating them, and has done it much more often than anybody has guessed.

There are no "sides", anyway, not really - other than whose pawn you are at any given moment. Robin 150's Cass understands it, but only half-way. Robin doesn't. Shiva, of course, is the neutral Third Side.

Also, Cain/Slade/Shiva threesomes of hotness.

I'm not saying I believe this makes much sense as a "true" thing, but it might be spinnable as a not *too* cracktastic dystopian Elseworld.

Either that, or I overcaffeinated myself again.

Lol, oh my god, your Elsewords would be great. Cain/Slade/Shiva threesomes of hotness. /Brain asplodes! That's some hot, hot, hot, dangerous thing. Of Hotness. So, you're saying Cass knows Cain is a big player, but she won't join him in the dark side? So she joined her mother? Was there a scene of 'Cass... Slade is your father!'?

I might make you a banner, you know. I just need to hunt for pics..

Ah! and the pretty icon is from jemppu. She makes many of them, all pretty! I'm not sure if it shows the credit in mine, LJ hates...

If you do that, I won't be able not to write fic for it. That kind of scares me...

I think (alright, in the "context" of Insaneverse + OYL) that Cass figured out that Cain and Shiva are big players, and (either by mistake or by insanity) thinks that *Bruce* is the other big player, hence her attempt to "rescue" Tim. Not a very strange mistake to make, because not even Bruce knows how much of a hand Cain has had in who he is.

Re: I'm blaming your highly inspiring icon :)
You know, if you add time travel to it, you might end with Slade being trained by Cain to be his nemesis. Or something. This surely is crack!

I'll have to make a banner now, just to see it. You're brain is a scary place, but George is awesome nontheless.

That's just too awesome not to be canon.

I have finished! The text on the first one really serves for pretty much all you do :P Shiva's hair was a bitch and I ended up blurring it too much. Anyway, here they are!

Wow, the Marceloverse, a hidden cross-canon behind the scenes of the DCU.

I dig it! :D

I copy-pasted the text of this to TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE with the addendum of "MARCELO SCARES ME." They both got that reaction completely.

Please, *please* scare me again. Wow. Eeek.

If you don't write at least one fic about Cain/Slade/Shiva, I may cry.

This Cain and Slade are brothers, and have been waging against other for decades a hidden proxy war for world domination, with the rule that they can't fight each other directly, only using people they have trained or conned into existing. Cain planted the "Batman" idea in Bruce's subconscious, knew Cass would escape him, etc, while Slade has been behind the "origin stories" of many other people in both sides. is too awesomely scary not to have some fic or other. You have to.
