Computer monitor + Bridge = freakin' AWESOME!!!
I've had a rather old monitor for a while. It was old when it was new to me. About a year ago it started acting up, I had been meaning to replace it for a while now. My cousin got a new monitor and sold me his old one for 20 dollars. Yay new monitor!
So what to do with the old one?............THROW IT OFF SOMETHING!!!
So we (Several of us. I'm sure David is regretting he ever let us know where he lives) Drove out to a random bridge spanning the Wabash. We didn't want to throw it in the water, that's just rude. So we parked at the turn around and drug it by it's cord to the other side where there is a clearing you can get to by car (we know, we went there to test the flammability of hairspray a few weeks ago) I said a few words about it's faithful service in spite of the broken and impending more-broken. Then I chucked it off the bridge.
It made a very satisfying *thump* when it hit the ground (10 points if you can name that reference). Well probably more of a *pop* because of the tube, but definitely some sort of *crash* that was loud and very satisfying. It served me relatively well and went out with a *bang*
We then drove down to where it landed and I gathered a couple of souvenirs; the power button and a few places where I had doodled on it. We then placed it in a convenient trash receptacle placed under the bridge and took our leave of the departed.
I also had a keyboard that I had just replaced and we took that out for a spin... by it's cord. It was bashed on the ground a few times raining letter keys with every hit, drug to the other side of the bridge, and hurled off. We collected most of the keys and I'm going to try and make necklaces out of them (thanks for the idea Rachel!).
I'm such a pack rat, I took several trophies. I like trophies. I have several bits and pieces, nothing sharp or glass, just stuff.
I am happy I have a new monitor, it works much better. And getting rid of the old one was... liberating.
