all purpose

I really should go to bed but I don't wanna.

My mother made two batches of chex mix last night (also known as crack coated cereal). So it begins. Last year we survived on a diet of mostly chex mix for nearly two months. One of us would ask the other what they wanted for dinner, the answer was usually something along the lines of, "I'm okay with chex mix." which garnered a reply of, "me too." When it came out of the oven mom announced that the heroin was done. So yeah, I had chex mix for dinner tonight. Yum!

Last weekend was pretty jam packed with... something.
Thanksgiving get together was at my grandmother's house on Sunday so I volunteered to work Thursday. By work I mean that I did the least amount of actual work possible, just the stuff that needed to happen that day while spending all of my downtime between experiments playing online or reading.
Friday I woke up early (for me on a weekend) so I could meet Bob and Loren at their place before heading to St. Louis. On my way over I stopped by Staples and did my first ever black Friday shopping. I only went in because there were three cars in the parking lot, everyone was deal hunting at the Wal-mart across the way. I picked up a 1TB external hard drive for cheap, now I can back up my desktop and reinstall the operating system!
We got to the St. Louis City Museum about noon local time and stayed for about 10 hours. It was a blast! I did have a mishap with my glasses in the ball pit *grumble grumble* but the fun far outweighed the bad.
Drove home the next morning. Bob and Loren let me use their hot glue gun so I could get my glasses together enough that I could drive home. I popped the lenses into my spare frames and headed off to work.
While at work I proceeded to finish the antenna for my Andorian costume and paint myself blue. I managed to show up for a little bit of Starbase Indy. The Klingons were all very friendly and we exchanged prosthetic makeup tips (pics later). Before I left I caught the tail end of the Star Trek vs Batman screening, it's associated Q&A, and the Quantum Leap fan film A Leap to Di For. At that point it was after 1am so I went home.
Sunday was Thanksgiving at Grandma's full of yummy food and family gossip (Grandpa is doing well but apparently won't eat much). I had to leave early so I could make it in to work.

I seem to be getting the hang of the touchpad on my computer (I couldn't think of a way to say "Kaylee's touchpad" without it sounding dirty) I'm not sure if it's more responsive than the touchpads I've used in the past but I really don't hate it nearly as much as I have every other touchpad I've had the misfortune of using. Maybe if I took a more thorough look through the manual I'd find shortcuts that I haven't already accidentally stumbled upon.
