Hey!x3 13/1/14 - SO HFT IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY

/swooning
This is precisely the Arashi I love.
Ugh the song is everything I hoped for
and all the TEAMWORK(! I SEE YOU COUNTING FOR THE REST THERE OHMIYA)
and sassing going on in the back
and adorable/flawless Ohno choreo (WITHOUT CLASSIC OHNO MOVES??? O.O) -
that's some vv pretty footwork going on in the intro -
and Aiba's perfect hairrrr
And just that overwhelming sense of them having /fun/ despite not being terribly familiar with the choreo.

Cheeks are hurting from all the grinning.

P.S. IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, JSTORM -
THE PV HAD BETTER HAVE DANCE SCENES IN IT. >:(

msta, 11.29.2013

It's 2am in the morning and I'm silent-screaming in front of the screen
because Nino is getting smarmier and smarmier
and Ohno's ending pose to FUNKY (SCREAMS HE LOOKS SO HAPPY)
and YAMA AT THE START OF TROUBLEMAKER (this song is practically a skit now lol, it's so overblown/over-evolved)
and Aiba is so into everything it's adorable
and Matsujun has ridiculous facial structure
(and the way he throws his mic from one hand to the other is :Q___)
and KUMORINOCHI, KAISEIIIIIIIIIII
and Arashi is flawless

/crying (oh goodness)

Music Station, 31.05.2013:
-The Endless Game choreo is f l a w f r e e.
Sharp, expressive, pretty AND SANDWICHED BETWEEN FUNNY? Count me in. *o*
Whoever has been working with Arashi for their past few dance songs
needs to stick with them (pretty please? :'D) for the next few as well.
If I hadn't liked the song already this would have done the trick
(dumb bridge remains dumb but the moves during its second half totally make up for it lol).
-Sho is so intense.
Seriously, this feels like the hundredth time I've said permutations of this
but everything about Kazoku Game/Endless Game fits him like a glove.
Which is slightly creepy, if you think about it, but very exciting to watch.
(I feel uncomfortable calling Yoshimoto hot because he's so emotionally-manipulative,
no matter the underlying intentions,
but YES, SHO, WORK THE HALF-CRAZED IF-YOU-GET-TO-CLOSE-TO-ME-YOU'LL-BURN SMOULDER. YES.)

HOW GOOD WAS THAT ARASHI MS MEDLEY
HOW GREAT WAS IT TO HEAR HADASHI NO MIRAI AND SAKURA SAKE AGAIN
MATSUJUN I SEE YOUR GRIN BEING WIDER THAN YOUR FACE
OHNO I SEE YOU SLEEPWALKING THROUGH (ALMOST) EVERYTHING
<3<3

Saikou no Rikon, ep7:
Lololol. Oh, you. ;;
My opinion of this series tends to seesaw, tbh (sometimes even within an episode :3).
At its worst it sort of resembles a bad play,
in the sense that scenes feel like obvious setups.
Case in point: the four-way argument in ep6 -
yeah, so there were good laughs here and there,
but the back-forth of the dialogue was just /that/ bit too deliberate,
the scenarios just /that/ bit too perfect.
Then you have the parts that are pretentious for pretentiousness' sake,
like Ryo's dream about the train journey (and his whole backstory, really). -.-

At its best, though - it is incredible.
-Every. single. heavy scene involving Mitsuo and/or Yuka hits its mark and cuts to the quick.
You have these emotions and they're thick in the air and they kind of clench and squeeze
and ughhh ;____;
AND CAN I JUST SAY: I started watching this for Eita,
but Ono Machiko is the heart of this whole thing
and she does it so much justice. <333
(I think I need to try Carnation now...
sigh, I believe this is exactly how I ended up neck-deep in Jdramas in the first place, lmao.)
-THE WRITER'S ABILITY TO EXTRACT HUMOUR FROM THE MUNDANE IS BRILLIANT.
In ep7 alone: the misting-over of the glasses
(I HAVE THAT PROBLEM EVERYDAY! YOU UNDERSTAND, SCRIPTWRITER-SAN xx /weeps),
Mitsuo's Top Ten Favourite Animals list (I laughed so hard, you have no idea),
the eyeroll-y 'I have my hands full' pun.
(Nearly all of Mitsuo's lines/physical gags, tbqh. Eita is awesome. xD)

It's still (relatively-) early days (cf. seesawing opinion),
but I'd say the good makes the bad worth it?
Not as asldifjqlvhavemyheart-amazing as Soredemo,
but I CAN see how this would be equally - if not more - difficult to film/execute
(if in a vastly different way),
so. /salutes

Off to steal a watch of my final Karamazov ep
(okay, more like Ichihara Hayato's permanently-clenched - but still hot!! :D - jaw).
I like how ridiculously stress-free this show's brand of misery is. <3
Yakou Kanransha, on the other hand...
ugh it makes me so angry.
Angry at the characters' choices/responses to situations,
then angry at myself for getting invested in drama characters lol.
I actually prefer the present-day scenes to the flashbacks,
because it's easier to deal with rock-bottom than watch the inevitable descent there. :(

THAT CANDY/DON'T LEAVE ME FANCAM

Can't stop smiling, lol.
On top of it being the best-quality fancam I have ever seen:
M.jup has SO MANY LINES
(and only goes offkey in one +/- a few notes!
Plus he totally ahjussi-karaoke-s through some of it ugh so cute),
ZELO SINGS (SUPER QT-LY, and better than I expected n____n),
BYG ALSO SINGS (SUPER QT-LY, and worse than I expected hahaha. Oh, bb. <33),
and Jae sounds great (this style suits him - poor boy really has been shortchanged by BAP songs).

Other highlights:
-BYG dancing his little heart out, Sho-level stiffly
-Dae making sure that the off notes in his first line in the Candy chorus are corrected by his second,
and being all adorable and shrug-y and generally non-snitty (ha, we wish)
-JONGUP LOOKING SO... HAPPY (the presh, THE PRESH)
-Zelo channelling his I-was-born-to-perform stage persona (ditto above - I can't with these two, seriously ;;)
riidaa <3

time and fandom wait for no man

Saikou no Rikon, ep 4 (in which my misgivings are officially dispelled):
This drama is so, so excellent at finding the funny in the unfunny,
and holding up mirrors to our foibles (lol it hit home so many times, sigh).
Yeah, it's not always pleasant,
but there is a point to that unpleasantness.
(And, on the plus side, no one makes decisions as illogical as Nao's(!).)
Even if I'm disappointed later on,
at least I can say it's unlike anything else I've ever watched.

PROBABLY MY FAVE FROM THE CON? IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS TRUCKLOADS OF FUN
(and wow @ Dae's falsetto/his last note).
'CHOI ZELO! CHOI ZELO!'
If Goodbye had had better singing it would have been up there too.

Only peripherally-related but was silent-tearing over this earlier on l-lol.
My life needs more Dae!ballads
(and not any old let's-stick-this-in-to-keep-the-vocalists-happy song either, TS >:().

catching up with Arashi's (very awesome) year-end perfs

Best Artist (2012.11.28):
- Jun looks so good in Troublemaker.
- K8's FACES throughout that recap of Yukai Tsukai, goodness.
MARU STOP ITTT LMAO you crack me up so hard.
- The talk just before the main perf, eek. <3
Lol @ Ohno's jii-chan-esque comments on Sho's hosting
and Sho's/Hatori-san's extraneous questions
and Nino beating poor Ohno to speaking. xD
Plus Sho's dorkface strikes again!
- Your Eyes really is a beautiful song, for all that it is a 'boring ballad'.

FNS (2012.12.05):
The Face Down choreo will forever be awesome.
I wish I could see professional dancers do it because it would be gorgeous.

MSSL (2012.12.21):
Ohno trots out his Central Park (which he unceremoniously deems a 'plaza' O.o) chat-with-a-bird anecdote
AND EMBELLISHES IT(?!). Oh Ohno ;___;
Idek if the joke was even appropriate for the occasion.
...though at least Tamori-san seemed rather amused. xD
Then Nino takes a jab at Ohno ('It was nice, right? You guys got to talk!') and Jun dissolves into fond laughter
and guhh everyone just have my heart, okay.

Love So Sweet again (is it seriously still that popular??), but fantastic as always,
and Nino/Aiba/Sho make the most wonderful trio ever I can't even.

24hrTV Darts no Tabi (Ohno) (2012.08.25)
And I haven't documented my love for this clip but I have re-watched it so. many. times.
It's the last bit of this, when Ohno meets Mugi-chan, who is absolutely ADORABLE
(much to her mother's bemusement xD),
and while up to this point Ohno has pretty much been your standard entertainment personality,
he really gets drawn in here and it is lovely to watch.
And when he goes 'Oh no, I want to stay with her forever' and she retorts 'But I'm going home!' -
crumbling under the weight of the cute. <333

Music:
- NEW ARASHI DOUBLE A-SIDE ON 6 MARCH :D:D:D
And the preview for Calling on Last Hope sounds like Lotus anime-OP-fied, so I am officially excited. *o*
- New sakanaction single next weekkkkk \o/\o/\o/
- New 7!! jam and Kisumai's My Resistance in February.
- A few years late to the Rainbow party but A and Mach are so catchy, ugh
(much better without the MVs imo? Not sure if it's the cheap sets or the distracting poses).
- BAP's Rain Sound (such an awk title, lol - couldn't resist storing it as Sound of Rain instead),
Phantom Theory, CN Blue's mini, JeA's Let's Hug/While You're Sleeping (which makes me tear up everytime, sighh).
2013 really is spoiling us. :):)

WATCHING THE WE CAN MAKE IT! PV FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG WHILE (TOO LONG)
AND WILL EVIDENTLY NEVER GET SICK OF THE CHEESE / NINO-FLOPPINESS /
OVERWHELMINGLY-LARGE NUMBER OF MISTAKES NO ONE NOTICED (OR BOTHERED TO CORRECT) ;____; ;D
KITTO DAIJOUBU NEXT!! Lolol then I SAY LUCKY YOU SAY MAN and Happiness yay all my faves.

ZzzIneedtostudybutbut rummaging through the NTTW discography
and UGH I CAN'T RN WHAT IS THIS BLISS ;____;
Okay, not Humania (excepting 手をたたけ ofc and Heim, though I guess Heim doesn't really count ><)
but HNGHHH EVERYTHING ELSE.
JUST.
UGHHH.
(and don't even get me started on 決戦は金曜日, lol)

My Christmas wish:
for Arashi to STOP HALF-ARSING THEIR PERFORMANCES.
Frankly, at this point the only one bothering to look as if he cares is Jun
(probably because he actually does, bless his heart) -
and the only two not painful to watch are Jun and Ohno (because Ohno performing badly is still pretty).
Of course I don't expect ~perfect~ dancing/singing,
but I'd actually say this teeters dangerously on the brink of unprofessionalism.
(...or maybe I've been spoilt by all these rookie idols slogging it out every performance? Grr idk.)
And, no, Nino, pulling out all the Aimiya fanservice stops isn't going to cover anything up.
Though Ohmiya fanservice might hahaha. /jkjk
It's sad because Waiha and Face Down are amongst the best singles they've put out in the past 3 years
(and Popcorn is most definitely the best album),
and I'd like to see them done justice.
I don't know if it's complacency or age or packed schedules or disillusionment,
BUT DO ME PROUD FOR KOUHAKU PLZ GUYS.

I think it'd be good for them to get some time off work COMPLETELY
and do stuff they want to do/should do.
Maybe the HnA cancellation is a blessing in disguise, after all.

Watched the Avengers movie.
...it wasn't as good as I'd been led to believe.
Maybe it would have helped if I had actually read the relevant comics (OTL),
but - as someone who went in blind -
it felt pretty typical (standard setpieces, standard humour, standard character tropes, etc.).
I guess I prefer my superhero movies darker/with more bite,
a la the Chris Nolan Batman films.
(ON A SIDE NOTE: SO EXCITED FOR THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. :D:D
STILL CAN'T BELIEVE NOLAN ESSENTIALLY CO-OPTED HALF THE INCEPTION CAST, UGH. <3)
I also wish they had developed the team thing a bit more,
because that was the most interesting plotline
and it felt as if they were butting heads one minute and working together perfectly the next.
Serviceable entertainment though.

Kana's new song!
Super-breezy/all-round adorable.
I really like it, even if it's more of the same music
and Kana's song-arrangers need to learn that
her range is not as high/wide as they seem to think it is
(watching her strain to hit the high notes in the lives makes me sad, tbh. :().

AFTER SCHOOL. <333
Am enjoying the Flashback/Rip Off stages so freaking much.
Questionable vocal abilities notwithstanding,
they're such charismatic performers.
And their hotness even transcends unfortunate camerawork, lol.
It defies reason.
It's funny because I remember dissing them not too long ago
(it might even have been their previous round of Korean promotions)
but this has completely reversed my opinion.
