new sneaks for your peeks!

New sneaks for my feets! I thought it was time i bought some cute sneaks I'm comfortable working out in.. and could wear with normal clothes. In fact, I'd much rather be wearing them right now. Wii fit extravaganzas more walks! I realized when we went to Chicago that i didn't have any super comfy shoes to do an intense amount of walking in. owe.

Drinking coke early in the morning is really weird and bubbly for me! I'm trying to get my brain moving before class begins, and I don't just sit there like a half awake zombie.

I love the 100 calorie pack ANYTHINGS. seriously nom nom nommers. I have to pack my lunches for school because of my intense schedule. My mom sent me this recipe for pineapple enchiladas and it sounds like a lovely combination of my two favorite food items. Enchiladas and pineapple. I love pineapple and i love cheesey enchiladaness. I'm sure it's going to be like food nirvana.

Chicago

We got back from Chicago around 10:30 last night. The city is to dieeeeeee, and we are pretty much set on moving there! All of our pictures and videos are on Alex's Flickr but I've put some of my favorites under the cut along with the details of our visit.

Chicago Day 1
Our vacation started at 4am on Friday when we got up early enough to be at the airport for our departure at 7am. Once we were in Chicago we took the blue line train into downtown and checked into our hotel. I thought that when I made the reservation I requested a King bed and a room with view. Our current room didn't have that so we made a switch and were MUCH happier. After unpacking and cleaning ourselves up from traveling we set out to explore the city and had a delicious Chicago style pizza at Uno's. It was huge so we ended up eating it for dinner as well. We then walked to the Navy Pier with lots of little shops and restaurants and RIDES! We rode the  ferris wheel (see pics) and Alex got a little nervous, I didn't know until that point that he had such a fear of heights. After relaxing there for a while and watching the sail boats come in and out we rode a bus to the Art Institute of Chicago. We found out that on Thursdays and Fridays after 5 the museum is free, so we were able to see hundreds and HUNDREDS of amazing works of art in this enormous museum. I had no idea how big this place was, we could have spent the whole day in there but my feets was hurtin so we had to go pick up some shoes for me at Urb Outfitters.  Outside of the museum were street performers in slinky costumes - awesome. We also went into a HUGE GINORMOUS Forever 21 for a potty break... we didn't really find anything we liked (i say we because they have SOME stuff for guys). We then toodled around some of the shops on State Street and made our way slowly back to the hotel. We were able to change, rest our feet, and wash off before deciding to check out the Sky Bar in our hotel (we actually walked around forever looking for a place to go, with no success. Just sports bars and fancy bars) We had a few drinks before deciding to head in for the night.

we all knew it had to happen...

livejournal has grown dull and dead it seems. I usually go to my friends page eager to read read read and find myself disappointed to see my week(s) old entries in the mix on the first page. I'm going to give the blogger a try for a while and see how it serves me.

I read my last entry and i realized I dropped 2 F*bombs and a bastard. Geez! I sound a bit like a sailor, or a modern pirate. I think i'm making it a personal goal to have a bit less of a dirty mouth and also to refrain from my "ya'll" slips. That word, or conjunction of the unknown, seems to be a clear indicator of the Texas illiterate. I know people say that you should have pride for your home-state/city/country what have you... but Texas seems to just irritate me. I loved living in Austin and it definitely made living in Texas bearable(sp?); anyway it's time to move on to a place more eco-friendly, liberal (not necessarily in the political sense), less judgmental and... I'll leave it at that.

side note: i went to the grocery store with my mom and little brother (i've been hanging out with family a good bit more lately due to some..issues) and there was a large pirate statue around the beer section and my 3 year old brother bellow "Arrgghhhh Matey!!" He's the friendliest little guy i know, he loves to say hi to people, especially people who look like a stereotype. "Heyyyy Cowboyy!!"

Right after I made the post about my phone arriving soon, I went out to the mailbox and it was there! I love love love it! I also had my number changed so that bill collectors would quit calling me early in the morning. I know i know... i should just be a big kid and pay them, but it's just not much of an option. Yikes

i went to the dentist yesterday and found out that i have to have my wisdom teeth cut out, all four. DANG! I set up the appointment to get it over with on the 21st. Those bastards are fucking up 2 years of braces-wearing and I just can't have that. I'm a little scared that i might still be fucked up in the face when we go to chicago on the 29th? That's 8 days later though...

I must now study for my final..

Threw Alex a surprise birthday/bowling party on Sunday. He worked early that day and seemed sad and grumpy thinking that nothing was planned for his birthday. I had been sick to my stomach all morning worrying that it wouldn't all come together. I made him the cake he requested (lemon cake, strawberry frosting, cherry filling, and chocolate sprinkles) early that morning while he was at work. We went to my parents for dinner. Mom pseudo-suggested that we all go bowling and Alex obliged.
IMG_0434.JPG by you.

When we were driving into the parking lot Alex spotted his friend Adam's car, "That's Adam's car...Adam's here? Why is Adam here...What did you DO?!?!" Walked in with huge grins, people crouched behind the bar..."SURPRISE!!!" It was an awesome success. All of his best friends and favorite coworkers were there, simply amazing. I'm still pretty exhausted from everything. We left the bowling alley to go hang out at his coworker Alice's house, who's birthday was that day too. I was completely incoherent and exhausted so we went back our apartment and I almost immediately passed out. Alex and Adam continued the evening by riding their bikes downtown and meeting up with friends again. I have pictures on my flickr! Peep that!

Time for class and awaiting the sale of my sex and the city series DVDs on ebay :(

is it too much to ask for mutual consideration?

I do a lot of waiting around for others but it seems very one-sided. I like to treat others, again one sided. Maybe i shouldn't expect so much from others. maybe everyone is just a big ass hole, and you have to find the best of the ass holes.

irritability probably having to due with the fact that I just finished my exam. came back to an empty house. hungry. and the place is a mess - and not a result of my own doing. it smells like garbage. gross.

dang!

Last night Alex's best friend Adam surprised us with his a visit! He returned from his deployment in Afghan/Europe a few months ago and is preparing to move to Austin.  We drank brews, watched movies, played pool, and reef'd. hah. Excellent hangings outs. I love how Alex is so happy when he's surrounded by his besties. Makes me happy.

On a less exciting note - we woke up this morning to find that our front door was wide open (i guess from the wind, and we forgot to lock it). Initial freak out instinct was "Where's Gus!?!?!" (our poodle). I immediately put on shoes and run out and start looking for him, and imagining the worst. Alex calls me back in and he's found him under our bed. Nice little good morning wake up! Alex leaves for work and I drift back to sleep. When I wake up I somehow start thinking about Mow-Mow (our kitty). I call Alex and start freak-out part 2. I took Gus outside with me and start looking for kitty... I call his name and I can hear him meowing. After repeated calling he emerges from underneath a bush just outside our apt. Safe and sound... Now we're all cuddling on my bed, basking in the glory of togetherness and thankfully not mourning a ravage murder by apartment wolves.

Tonight is our first bike meat-up in Denton :)

Now... it's time to cram for my history of psych exam!
