Prompt: #040 - Sight
Word Count: 291

Summary: The night before a game, and the conversation between two teammates started from being confrontational to something purely . . . beautiful.
Author's Notes: Well, this started out to be under prompt #045 “Moon”, but near the end, I decided it’ll turn out better under #040 “Sight”. I hope I’m right.
“Bell!”
“Ack!”
“What the hell are you doing out here so late? We have a game tomorrow! You should be getting your rest!”
“Wha–what am I doing out here? You’re out here too!”
“It’s different. I’m practicing. You’re just . . . you’re just lying there.”
“So? I’m calming myself before the game. It helps me play better.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Well, before you so rudely interrupted me, I was looking at this.”
“At what?”
“Lie down. You’ll see.”
“Bell . . . ”
“Do it.”
“Fine.”
“See it?”
“See what?”
“The sky.”
“I see it. What about it?”
“It’s beautiful.”
“It’s all right.”
“Look harder.”
“It’s the same sky.”
“You’re not looking at it right.”
“What are you talking about? There’s no wrong way and right way of looking at something.”
“Yes there is.”
“How so?”
“I see the sky as the most beautiful thing out here . . . I’m looking at it with a calm soul and an open heart.”
“Oh, please, Bell.”
“No, listen. You’re too worried about that game tomorrow. You’re not calm enough to see things the right way.”
“I am not worried.”
“Oliver, I’m two inches from you. I can hear your heart beating.”
“That’s an invasion of my privacy.”
“I didn’t tell you to lie so closely, you just did. If it’s anybody’s privacy that’s being invaded, it’s mine and you’re doing it.”
“You’re twisting my words.”
“How?”
“With . . . that.”
“You make no sense.”
“No, you make–”
“Oliver?”
“Yes?”
“Shut up. Look at me. Don’t speak. Just look into my eyes, okay?”
“ . . . ”
“ . . . ”
“ . . . ”
“Oliver?”
“Yes?”
“Look up again. What do you see?”
“I see the sky.”
“And?”
“It’s beautiful.”
“Good.”
“Bell?”
“Yes?”
“Thank you.”
“Why?”
“ . . . Beautiful.”
“ . . . Oliver?”
“Yes?”
“You’re not looking at the sky any longer.”
“No, I’m not.”
