Been in a vile mood today, neighbours and their kids have done things today to annoy me, got a plot bunny for a story before I fell asleep, then when I woke up, and eventually remembered it, decided it was rubbish, and haven't been able to contact my comic book shop to get the covers for Angel: After the Fall and Buffy Season Eight I want, and the comics sent out!

Goes off to sit in corner and fume!

Title Memories

It was night, the Hub was quiet. Everyone had gone home, leaving Jack on his own. Sometimes Jack hated these times, he had so many events, so many people from his past to remember. Then he always had a way to overcome the loss of all those people from his past. With "Captain John" stuck in a time loop, for five years. Two adventurers, on an adventure together. Two lovers of equal passion. It was a time he could remember.

He knew he would always let John go, these memories were always a treasure, and John had given him that.

I would wonder round while Angel was on, considering this topic in my head. Now it is something that has turned up in Torchwood (and, with crossovers, Dr Who) by Captain Jack. Your hero is immortal, but your actor isn't. Does your hero age? Will with a vampire, no, but Angel, or DB changed a lot from Season One of Buffy to Season Five of Angel. Then we fans loved him, and turned a blind eye to his changes.

Ok Ok we may comment a bit on them, but more a kind of affectionate ribbing about any changes.

It was nothing big, maybe he got a little chunkier, but his hair wasn't falling out, no noticeable wrinkles, all his own teeth, and no grey hairs. So we bought into it. Some of the changes were not that gradual, but he was still Angel.

What about Captain Jack? He asks if he will age in the last episode of Dr Who season 3. On the one hand, if he can age, then Torchwood has a longer run time, but if he can age, but cannot die? Does anyone want to live forever as an old person, with all the problems of old age?

Then Captain John asks him what keeps him coming back? So can he choose at anytime after dying not to come back? Is it his ties to the Torchwood team, the Doctor, his mission that keeps him coming back?
