Summary: Spike has his chip removed and repays the demon who helped him
Part 1
Spike had seen enough of the soldiers while he was held in the cell. When he escaped and found out that they had done something to his head that meant he could no longer hurt humans, he felt hate well inside him like nothing he had ever felt before.
The demon Pacoff had helped him, removed the chip and nursed him back to full strength, but had demanded a tribute - five fledglings. Two he had been specific about, the slayer and the witch. The other three were for Spike to decide on.
Spike had watched the Slayer for three days, had seen her with the soldier who had captured him, and smirked. Was there a better way to start than turn the very one responsible for his captivity, and hurt the slayer at the same time?
Tonight he watched him; Riley was his name. Not that it mattered to Spike. To Spike he was like a block of cardboard, he only hoped that when he fed from him and turned him he would taste better than that.
As Riley made his way back to his accommodation, Spike struck. He had taken him by surprise and without his sophisticated high-tech weapons Riley had been reasonably easy to subdue. He did seem to be stronger than most humans, and if Spike had not been over a century old and a master vampire, he may not have succeeded.
The boy hit the wall as Spike took the legs out from under him, leaving him dazed. This was enough for Spike to pounce.
He drained him quickly, and then fed him enough of his blood to make him a minion. Pacoff had asked for fledglings, but had not specified whether he wanted Childer or minions. Therefore minions it was.
As Spike drained the boy he tasted some sort of drug in his blood; one that heightened his strength and intelligence.
"Well, soldier boy, looks like you have given me the edge to defeat your girlfriend." Spike spoke to the dead body, as the demon took over the corpse.
Part 2
Buffy was on patrol. It was a quiet night; all the demons and vampires seemed to be keeping out of sight lately and she itched for a fight. She saw a flash of peroxide hair, and the swish of a leather coat.
"Spike, are you the answer to my prayers? I was looking for a fight and then turning a vampire to dust. You would be perfect." Buffy stated.
"Ready to dance when you are, slayer. Feel in top form tonight, maybe it’s my lucky night." Spike replied with a smirk. "How are your boyfriend problems this time?"
"Nothing to do with you, Spike. Should you not be more worried about Dru, or are you still with Harmony these days? Never had great taste, did you?" Buffy retorted, delivering a roundhouse kick to Spike's chest. With lightening speed, which surprised Buffy, Spike easily avoided her assault.
"Oh I'm not bothering with the bints, got other fish to fry." Spike issued a left hook with such force that Buffy staggered back and delivered a sucker punch from the right to her stomach, which left her winded.
"Well, this has been fun, but I just ran into your boyfriend, Riley, was it? You should be with him soon." Spike took her legs out from under her and pounced.
Buffy was shocked, she hadn’t got one good punch or kick in, and now she felt Spike drain her.
"No snippy last words, slayer? Don't worry, that will soon change." Spike glared at the body as the heartbeat became weaker. As soon as there was no hope for even a slayer returning, Spike drew a talon-like claw across his wrist, letting Buffy drink.
"Two down, three to go. Don't worry, slayer, even in death, you will have your friends. Angelus wanted to hurt you, but he forgot that vampires remember their human lives. I think you will still hurt.”
Part 3
Spike rose the next night, the Riley and Buffy still unmoving, as the demon took over their bodies. With the slayer gone, the next most worthy opponent for Spike was Willow.
“Now red, will be a lovely witch to join you.” Spike sighed. “Will show her how much I want to drain her, taste her sweet blood.”
Spike soon found himself outside Willow’s dorm room, listening to her restless pacing. She was on the phone sounding anxious.
“No, Buffy is not back yet. I don’t know where she is; I mean nothing has happened that would cause her to run away, again. So, why should she just disappear, I’ve heard nothing from her since last night, when she went on patrol.” She listened to the phone, and sighed.
“No, we have not heard from Riley either, but I am sure they would not just disappear together, not halfway through term like this. Riley is responsible.” Willow hung up the phone, and watched as the door opened, a hopeful gleam in her eyes.
“Surprise, Red! Guess you didn’t do an uninvite spell after all. Oh, and don’t worry about Buffy, you will soon be joining her.” Spike moved towards the young witch and grabbed her. Willow was so shocked and distressed that she hardly struggled. Spike shifted into game face and was ready to drain her.
“Told you I would love to taste your sweet blood, but don’t worry, you will be a prize, treated with respect and taught more witchcraft. You have been especially ordered.” Spike sighed into her ear before he sank his fangs into her neck.
Opening his wrist to let her feed on his blood, he was content. She was such a beauty, and her love of witchcraft would mean that she would be treated well.
Part 4
Now for the Whelp.
Xander was working as an ice-cream salesman. He was sure he could hardly go further down the employment scale, but at least he knew the dangers of the night. Neither Buffy or his best friend Willow had been in touch for a couple of days, but they seemed to have moved on, and left him behind. All part of growing up, he supposed.
He parked the van and went towards the men’s toilet, not noticing the dark shadow following him. Spike positioned himself by the door, next to the raised flowerbeds outside the building. Soon Xander would never need to use one of these contraptions again, he thought.
As Xander left the building he felt strong arms envelop him, pulling him into the darkness easily. With wild eyes he searched for a way to defend himself, only to feel the sharp pang of fangs in his neck. The silence was un-nerving. As Xander tried for a witty comeback that maybe could buy him some time, his heart slowed, his head felt light and his vision darkened. So this is what it’s like to die by a vampire’s hand; could be worse, he decided.
Spike held the limp body, feeding him the blood, which would turn the whelp into a creature of the night. After fighting demons and vampires for so long, he wondered how they would cope with being one. Would they still be friends?
Part 5
Spike decided it was time for Rupert to join the party.
Giles pulled on his jacket. Buffy had disappeared and he knew something was not right in Sunnydale. His books had told him nothing and he was restless. Maybe searching for his beloved Slayer would help. Sitting around in his apartment was just making him more nervous.
As he walked into the night air, he looked at the map of Sunnydale, wishing that Buffy would stick to a route; he had no idea where to start. The docklands always seemed full of unsavoury activity, demon and human. Making the decision to start there and work back through the cemeteries, he made his way. No point in taking the car he surmised, as he might miss Buffy if not on foot.
Spike watched Giles progress from the shadows. “Ah, yes watcher, the docklands, a perfect choice. Lots of places to plan an ambush.” Spike breathed, and smirked at no one.
Spike found his way into the alley behind “The Fish Tank” and waited. When the watcher’s familiar scent reached his nostrils, he started to throw trashcans around, exclaiming: “You’re mine now, Slutty!”
Giles pulled out a stake as soon as he heard Spikes voice. His heart thundered and, worried about not hearing Buffy making a witty comeback, he rushed in without thinking.
“Good to see you Rupert, old man.” Spike knocked the stake from Giles’s hand as he was frantically looking for Buffy.
“Sorry to disappoint Rupes, but I already got Buffy last night. Don’t worry, you will soon be joining her.” Spike grasped Giles in a bone breaking hold, pulling the struggling man towards his face, fangs extended.
“Soon you will have nothing to worry about, except obeying your new master.” Spike sank his fangs into the watcher’s neck and drank deeply, making short work of the man, draining him and then letting him feed from his blood. Content that his task was completed, Spike made his plans. Another Slayer under his belt, five minions in repayment for removing his chip, and the world was his oyster. Unlife was good for an evil master vampire and the Big Bad felt it was time to move on.
Any good?
