Ok, I guess everyone knows by now that is Joss can get the funding and actors on board, he would sell out the comics in an instant. So canon? Not so much so. Then with what has gone on before in the Buffy!Verse, and the comics is there anything we can draw for the sexuality of the characters in the Buffy!Verse? Just my rambling thoughts. The first gay character we meet in the Buffy!Verse is Larry. Very much a background character, and at first uncomfortable with his sexuality. It really hardly made any waves or effected the core Scoobies very much. Now whither you accept that Willow was Gay, or Bi is up to you. I will not get into that. She had a crush on Xander, and a relationship with Oz. Then met her soulmate in Tara, and came out as Gay. They then introduced Kennedy. The only item is that both Tara and Kennedy knew from a young age that they were gay. But maybe Willow was confused when she was young. Now they have Buffy and Satsu. Could be argued that Buffy is experimenting, Bi-curious or Bi. But yet another lead female character is embarking on a relationship with another woman. There were rumors they were going to make Xander gay, then decided on Willow, they play with Spangel, but that is all. Apart from the Intimate one time comment from Spike (which could mean that Angelus got drunk and started telling William the Bloody his most intimate secrets), that is all. Then Vampires are, for me, different. They are preditors, who would use any means to entrice their prey. Human sexuality doesn't enter into it! For me, most of the writers were male, Joss was in charge, and that is a well known male fantasy. Two women. Ok in the comics, there are not that many men. Andrew, Giles and Xander.....but they could've introduced some male characters if they wanted. Yes, we have 500 female slayers, but they have also introduced back up. Some of them could be male. But no, the back up is female too. So not holding my breath for a Spring Autumn relationship between Faith and Giles (I think it could work, they have a dark side that could draw each other, and be interesting), because they have de-sexisied Giles for years now. Despite how sexy ASH is. Ageist I think. Will stop rambling now! Tags: angel, buffy, sexuality Current Mood: curious Current Music: Sutherland Brothers and Quiver Love On the Moon
