Favourite Canon Relationships Results
I know I said the poll was just for fun, but I got recced by [info]petzipellepingo and [info]su_herald. With my own flist I kinda wasn't expecting Buffy/Angel to do well. I really don't think I have a lot of Buffy/Angel shippers on my friends list. Then when I got those recs, I thought it might do better. It is after all a major ship, with very vocal supporters.

Therefore I was Surprised at the results so far!

Buffy/Angel 18

When this is compaired to other ships, with either Buffy, Angel or Spike in it, I wonder where the Bangel shippers are.

Spike/Drusilla 52
Buffy/Spike 63
Cordelia/Angel 27
Angleus/Darla 40
Spangel(us) is canon dammit! 52

It could be that I am known as a Spangel shipper I guess, but I really do not think I am that well known in the fandom. So I wonder what stopped the Bangel shippers voting. Honest there was no bashing of ships or anything!

When I did a similar poll a few years back, I had the same result.

I just think that there aren't that many B/A shippers around, to be honest. They just have few very vocal rabid shippers that it seems like there's more of them. When I came into the fandom, I assumed that naturally B/A would be the big ship that almost everyone liked, and was suprised when it wasn't more popular than it is.

I think you are right. I do have two bangel shippers and writers on my flist, but neither of them voted. Of course maybe they are busy a this time of the year, and missed it.

Or it could ge that the ones who do ship it do make a lot of noise about it, but there are not as many of them as it looks!

I'd been suspecting their numbers on LJ aren't that big. We hardly get any B/A recs at [info]buffyversetop5 even during the Classic Recs weekend, where you'd expect a mountain of B/A fic would qualify since it goes back the farthest.

I must admit, I was subprised at how few votes it got, with such recs! I guess they are just not here at all.....which is strange, as, even with the mistakes LJ are making, this is the place for lots of fic!

Yes, and it wasn't like everyone who is Spangel voted either! At least not on my flist anyway. The lack of Bangel is quite a surprise.

I didn't realize you were recced in su-herald, but I'm a B/A shipper and I didn't bother voting because I know the make-up of your friends list.

Honestly, I don't think polls mean a damn thing, unless you can get a truly random sampling and that's not going to happen.
