Summary Connor wants to know more about Angel. He finds help in an unexpected couple.


Connor arrived at the apartment the two men had rented out for their time here. They were a strange couple, Xander and Andrew. Xander, with his one eye - the other, it seemed, he had lost during the final days at Sunnydale, fighting beside the Slayer. He was the one who knew the most about his vampire father. The more he told Connor about Angel, though, the more Connor was sure the two of them were a long way from being friends. In fact, Xander really had issues with Angel, and with vampires in general.

Connor felt that was probably the only thing the couple had in common. He had thought that Xander was level headed and down to earth. Then, finding them both arguing over the finer details of the Wonder Woman comics, it dawned on him that in his own way, Xander was as big a geek as Andrew could ever be.

They had been giving him some interesting insights into Angel’s time in Sunnydale, and his attachment to Buffy, then the only slayer. Connor felt he now knew as much as the two had to offer about Angel's past. Now he wanted to know what they knew about the night his father left him, and went out to face the wrath of the Senior Partners.

Since the night his father had sent him away, and ran off to fight some battle he was sure was coming, Connor had heard nothing about Angel or any of his friends. Xander and Andrew had been sent by the Watchers' Council to investigate. Soon the three’s paths crossed, and they struck up an uneasy friendship, each of them searching for different reasons, but no less determined to find answers.

Connor had started to hang out with the two of them, often going with them on investigations. At first, he had gone along because he felt they needed him to protect them from the things that went bump in the night, of which L.A. seemed to have far more than its fair share. Especially after That Night, which had become capitalised in each of their heads. Then he realised he was enjoying the company, and wasn't just going along out of a sense of obligation.

Gradually, Connor became aware they were a couple, not just two guys working together. Not that it bothered him, he was secure in his own sexuality, finding both men and women attractive. He had always been attracted to older people, and had to admit to an increasing interest in Xander.

He arrived at the apartment, hoping to find some company to watch the hockey play-offs on tv, and was dismayed to find both Xander and Andrew settling in to watch a marathon Dr Who night with Christopher Eccleston. Connor then started to plead that he was the guest, and should get the programme he wanted, but neither Xander nor Andrew showed any signs of listening to him.

Soon Xander and Connor got into a tussle for the remote, the winner deciding on the entertainment for that night. Connor was sure he would win, but also knew that Xander was a human, without superpowers of any kind. So Connor was only going to use as much strength as it took to win and watch his play-offs.
