I got an amazing response to my rare pairings call yesterday, and this is the first one. For [info]hils, Spike/Giles, pre-slash, Giles POV


Giles watched as Spike tried to make an impression, despite being chipped and unable to harm humans. First he was chained in his bathtub, then tied to his dinning room chair. Now Spike had free rein round his apartment. His open plan apartment, with his balcony bedroom.

Spike had made various comments about the fact he watched Giles undress, even if Giles tried to undress in the dark, Spike could still see him. Vampire sight being accustomed to the dark.

At first he tried to be discrete, but Spike would always find a way to overcome that. The jeering gave way to some grudging remarks about how well preserved Giles was. These in turn led to Giles starting to think of his younger days. When he was partnered with Ethan. He phoned Olivia, in a last attempt to overcome the attraction he was feeling for the chipped vampire. Then cancelled.

He reasoned with himself, told himself that it was all about research. Finding out more about vampires. Then he could no longer lie. It was about attraction. He was acting on the attraction he felt for the Bleached Blonde, and reacting to the increasingly complementary comments from the vampire.

With a start he knew, an ex-watcher, disgraced for being to attached to his slayer, was going to start a relationship with a vampire. Because he wanted to. Not research, or any one of a number of things he could delude himself with. It was pure and simple attraction.

Only nine more to go

It was a nice change to so this pairing. Giles just doen't get enough love! Good to give him some!
