Seems that no matter the fandom, you get character bashing. I am a Spike fan, and yes it hurts when people bash you favourite character, it has to be remembered that they are fictional. I do find a lot of people over-react, but if they want to show themselves up to scorn for rabid comments about a fictional character, the product of the writers, who also write their favourite characters as well, that is their look out.

What I cannot abide, at all, is the bashing of the actors. I do have one in a fandom that, although I think he is a very good actor, I have read interviews with him, and found some of the things he says about his co-stars hard to stomach. I shall keep my mouth zipped closed about him, as I am totally unaware of the background that made him do this.

So, yes, I accept there will be character bashing, and, although I may not like it, and know that it hurts fans of that character, it is all part of fandom. People have favourites, and any other character who seems to be getting in the way of their favourite, they will bash.

Just leave the Actors Alone! They are only playing a part!
