Alanna. Rhymes with "Dana". My parents are phonetically-challenged. Late 20's (at least, as far as I'm concerned), single, middle school teacher, peppy-bordering-on-wacky. TV addict who writes fanfic, does whacked-out screencap reviews, and generally just does the whole fandom obsession thing -- though I like to think that I'm somewhat reasonable about it, knock on wood. Friending Policy
Everyone else has one, so I'll jump on ye olde bandwagon. When I first joined LJ five years ago, I friended everyone back. A year later, I looked up and discovered I had over 300 people on my flist, and I can barely keep up with things as is. I could trim it down, yeah, but I feel horribly guilty for unfriending people. So, I made a personal policy of not friending people back (well, except in rare cases like if I already knew them online or whatever.) If I don't friend you back, it's absolutely nothing personal. Promise. Now, if someone could turn reading LJ into a full-time job, well, then I'd have an open-door policy. ;) Until then, I'm basically keeping things as they are. I seldom friendslock posts unless they include personal stuff that I'd rather not show to random passersby, so you're not missing much. And hey, you're more than welcome to friend me anyway -- I hope you enjoy reading my posts!
And finally....
Even though I roll my eyes at super-long userinfos, I had a contest four years ago in which people could write my LJ bio. It's a bit dated now (former fandoms 'n such), but circe_tigana's entry is too hilarious to delete.

Kid, we live in a fandom that needs good BTVS fics. And those fics have to be written by writers with vision. Who's gonna do it? You? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Spander and you curse my Slayer. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: That Spike's death, while tragic, is probably the best thing that happened to fanfic in a long time. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, enriches lives.
(beat)
You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me writing that fic. You need me to.
(boasting)
We use words like cold seed, rippling abs, NC-17 ... we use these words as the backbone to a life spent creating angst and smut. You use 'em as a punchline.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to an LJ user who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very fiction I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it. I'd prefer you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a pen and write something yourself. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to.
