If you're not going to read my entry, please press here so that I know I did my part.

Otherwise:

"The National Day of Silence brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. Each year the event has grown, now with hundreds of thousands of students coming together to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior."

This year will be my sixth year participating in the Day of Silence this FRIDAY APRIL 17TH. It hurts me personally to hear that straight, bisexual, gay, transgendered, "queer and questioning" and all other types of children are being bullied or beaten to death because of homophobia and overall ignorance.

For ONE school/work day of not speaking, you are experiencing the silence LGBTQ persons experience their entire lives. It sounds like so little but I assure you people will notice that you are not speaking. They will ask you why. Imagine your LGBTQ friends didn't speak anymore. Imagine they were beaten to death for who they're in love with. If you don't have any gay friends, imagine if a parent of yours is gay; your best friend.

Please comment to this entry if you've read it. And please spread the word even if you're apathetic.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO TO END THE SILENCE? http://dayofsilence.org/

A Friends Only banner I like that's too big for my layout. )

01. This journal is 100% Friends Only.

02. If you know me in person, you're not allowed here. There are absolutely no exceptions to this rule. You can, however, add me on Facebook. I have a MySpace but I never use it.

03. I loathe advice. Pretty badly.

04. If you were gone and now you're back, ask and I'll probably friend you again.

05. Comment if you're going to add me, please.

06. What's your sign?
