Blake Shelton: I'm planning a benefit with NBC for tornado victims
After Tuesday night's taping of "The Voice," the country music superstar told CNN, "We are actually putting together a fund-raiser right now with NBC. We'll have more details within the next 24 hours, but definitely something with NBC that is going to happen real fast, and hopefully raise a lot of money."
The revelation came after he and his wife, Miranda Lambert, sang an especially poignant rendition of their hit "Over You," which the couple wrote as a tribute to Shelton's brother, who died when Shelton was a teenager.
"'Over You' was just the perfect song to fit, and maybe help some people heal and mourn and all those things," Shelton said.
Shelton revealed he had a personal connection to the community with the most devastation.
"(Monday) was a tough day for any Oklahoman," he said. "And you know, Miranda and I are both residents of Oklahoma. I was born and raised in Oklahoma there and Miranda lives there now. It was tough to land here in LA and look at (media coverage) on the phone and go, 'Oh my gosh, we just left there.'"
The country singer said he has family very near some of the hardest hit areas.
"I spent three Christmases at my sister's house in Moore, Oklahoma, and some of those helicopter views of the destruction, you could see her house a quarter of a mile away from there," Shelton said. "My nieces and nephews would have gone to that school (Plaza Towers Elementary), and when you start putting it in that sort of perspective, and then thinking, 'Oh my God, I am so glad that they recently moved away from that area.' And then you go, 'What about all those people that didn't?' It's hard to put into words, honestly."
Shelton's fellow coach on "The Voice," singer Usher, said he hopes to be part of the benefit.
"I have family in Oklahoma City," he said. "My little sister, Ashira -- her family is OK. Unfortunately, that is something that you can't -- all you can do is put your best efforts forward, just let those who have been a part of this tragic reality, this natural disaster, know that we are thinking about them and care about them. I think that is 100 percent the effort."

Rayna who? The ABC drama's best character is also its bitchiest.
This bit of information would doubtless send Juliette Barnes into another one of her infamous diva fits, and rightly so: see, Hayden Panettiere -- shockingly enough -- was not the first choice to play the deliciously bratty and cunning Nashville villainess. After an addictively soapy first season that revealed Panettiere to be a compelling and multi-layered actress who can belt a country song with the best of them (and probably out-sing Taylor Swift, too), it’s difficult to imagine anyone else in the role.

'American Idol' Is Too Old and Bad for Old and Bad Contestants to Save It
As American Idol struggles to reverse its inglorious downfall, the producers are bound to come up with some wacky plans. They've fired all the expensive judges from this year, and now the latest wacky plan is to hire former contestants to judge the competition. This is but a rumor right now, but it could become fact.
Vulture says that Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson have already been approached, which I can't imagine went well. "Hey, want to spend your entire winter and spring listening to a bunch of jerks sing? Oh, and you'll have to take a ton of trips this summer to places like Salt Lake City and Omaha?" I hope Jennifer Hudson's answer was, "Let me go get my Oscar so I can hit you with it." Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert are apparently also on the wish list, and I'd think they are more realistic candidates. Still, I'm not sure what this would really accomplish.
As I've said before, I really don't think the judges are the problem. The show's ratings are tanking because it's an old show and no one spectacular has won in eight years. I'm sure the judges have some small role in attracting viewers, but I can't imagine it's that significant. And really, old contestants? It's a nice, sentimental idea, but who's going to get excited for that? Only the show's diehard base and, well, they're already watching the show. I guess if they managed to get Kelly, Carrie Underwood, and Hudson, then people might find it worth tuning in to, but if it's Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen, I'm not sure that's gonna do it. Really, Fox should accept the natural death of a show that had a long and fabulous life and let Idol die gracefully, but that's not what TV networks typically do, is it?

Owner of Amy's Baking Company faces deportation
The co-owner of Amy’s Baking Company — a Scottsdale restaurant that has been the center of controversy ever since appearing on the culinary reality TV show “Kitchen Nightmares” 11 days ago — is facing deportation.
Salomon “Samy” Bouzaglo, who owns Amy’s Baking Company along with his wife, Amy, is involved in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement case to revoke his residency status, his lawyer said Tuesday. Scottsdale immigration lawyer David Asser said the case against his client started two years ago and was the subject of a removal hearing Monday.
International records show he is already banned from two other countries, France and Germany. Sources show his past in Europe includes a criminal history of drug distribution, threats and extortion.

Kendall Jenner was blasted on Twitter on Tuesday night for a comment about wishing life was “easier,” a tweet that earned the ire of Frances Bean Cobain.
“Just wish things could be easier sometimes mann,” tweeted Jenner, with no mention of what she was referring to.
Striking a nerve with Cobain, the daughter of Kurt and Courtney Love replied, “oh shh. There are kids on earth abandoned&homeless who forcibly drink contaminated water because clean water isn’t accessible.”
“Oh ya, not to mention, CANCER, famine, poverty, draught, disease, natural disasters, Death,” continued Cobain. “F**k, Humans are so self involved.”
Cobain went on to add, “i’d rather be a scumbag than a f**king idiot. Praise high IQ’s, good taste & awareness about the state of the world.”
“I’d like to thank my parents for providing me with a high IQ & I’d like to thank my grams for encouraging me not to be a self absorbed idiot,” she concluded.
Ouch.

Just how over the top were Kim Kardashian's music-box baby shower invitations? Really, really, really over the top -- and TMZ has the first photo proof.
The invite to Kim K's June 2nd bash -- sent to a guest close to Kanye West -- arrived as a fully functional music box, complete with a spinning ballerina ... dancing to a lullaby version of Kanye's "Hey Mama."
Not only is the invite playing the baby daddy's tune, but the ballerina bears a striking resemblance to Kim herself -- just in case anyone forgets who this party is REALLY celebrating.
According to the invites, Kris Jenner, Shelli Azoff (wife of uber-manager Irving Azoff), Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are hosting the party. Recommended attire ... garden chic. We think that's rich people speak for casual.

Emma Roberts joins AHS season three
American Horror Story: Coven has cast its spell on Emma Roberts.
The Scream 4 actress is nearing a deal to join the FX drama’s witch-themed third chapter, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Roberts — who most recently starred in Fox’s ill-fated pilot Delirium — will play a self-involved party girl by the name of Madison.
Fun fact: Roberts’ casting places her on screen alongside real-life boyfriend, Horror Story vet Evan Peters.
As previously reported, AHS fixtures Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Taissa Farmiga will be back for Season 3. Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone and Gabourey Sidibe, meanwhile, are among the addictive hit’s fresh faces.

... Those close to Pattinson tell me that there are some sh-tty influences in her life and that she has poor judgment when it comes to her family and friends. She’s had some family pressures. And she was a child star. Though she may not have f-cked up as spectacularly as some of her child star peers, it doesn’t change the fact that she’s been working steadily for years. Some say she’s “exhausted”, “tapped out”, and is just ready to kick it and have some fun for a while. Live the kind “college” life that she missed while she was on set so much. Lindsay Lohan said the same thing. Her college years have eaten up almost an entire decade. Stewart is much less destructive but Team Pattinson claims that he’s been frustrated with her lack of motivation. Her talent is what he has always loved most, what he’s always been attracted to, and he sees her as the best of her generation, and supposedly considers it a turnoff that she doesn’t seem to be using it. That’s his side.
Her side maintains that she always gets the worst of it between them, even though he isn’t the sensitive, gentle boy he’s been sold to be. He too has friends who can’t be trusted, who prefer to spend more time on the old Hollywood Ebola Paris Hilton circuit. So they’re saying he parties too much, and his people claim that she parties too much. There’s also the question of commitment. When Pattinson was filming Cosmopolis in Toronto, there were always stories that he was stepping out on Stewart. Not with Caitlin Cronenberg but with local randoms. Since so much noise surrounds Stewart and Pattinson, those who kept hearing this business weren’t entirely convinced. And besides, no one wanted to f-ck around with a Canadian powerhouse’s production. The encounters were always the same though -- he allegedly would insist that he and Stewart had an open relationship, so it was rather rich when he was portrayed as a victim when Stewart was found to be cheating with Rupert Sanders. The things that made Stewart unhappy, that may have led to her infidelity, were never addressed. And now that they've had some distance from the scandal, they've come up again and couldn't be ignored...
