16th-Jun-2008 06:09 pm - Spring options
Saturday morning
Mostly just a note for myself on the classes I have to choose one of for Spring to finish out the software development degree plan. What else I'll be taking in the Spring I don't know yet. Of these I'm thinking at the moment that my ranking is Fundamentals III, Java, then C++.

9th-May-2008 03:55 pm - Degree GPA and future plans
Saturday morning
The degree audit tool shows "Program: Complete" for the Networking degree. Nothing surprising for the Spring 2008 grades.. As in all three classes. If I did the math right then it looks like I come out with a GPA of 3.74 for the courses on the degree plan. :) It would have been higher if I'd actually taken Microcomputer Applications instead of CLEPing it but yeah.. I'll live with the difference.

16th-Mar-2008 07:49 pm - Summer school?
Saturday morning
I don't know yet if I am going to do classes this summer for my second degree. If I do it looks like my choices are:

ITSW-1407 Introduction to Database (required for degree)

(4-3-2). Introduction to database theory and the
practical applications of a database. Recommended
prerequisite: BCIS 1405 or COSC 1401.*

ITSE-2417 Java Programming (elective)

(4-3-2). Introduction to object-oriented Java
programming. Emphasizes the fundamental syntax and
semantics of Java for applications and web
applets. Recommended prerequisite: COSC 1436.

The Database class is online, though the instructor is based on Southeast campus so I am waiting for the distance learning center to update the entry on where any required on-campus tests can be taken. The Java class is on-campus, MW 6 to 830 at Northeast Campus. I don't know about doing it as an on-campus course. I'm kind of hoping to get away from the on-campus ones.
14th-Nov-2007 03:25 pm - Spring school plan
Saturday morning
Registration starts tomorrow.  The prof for my Cisco's thinks we are gonna be ok for forming CCNA3 but I'm laying out a backup plan just in case.  Providing nothing goes super pear shaped I should have my first Associate's degree wrapped in May.

ITCC-1442 - CCNA 3: Switching Basics / Intermediate Routing
TTh 530-1050 1/14/2008-3/7/2008 ( 0103934 )

ITCC-1446 - CCNA 4: WAN Technologies
TTh 530-1050 3/10/2008-5/8/2008 ( 0104168 )

18th-Apr-2007 03:02 pm - Another one done
Saturday morning
Took the Information Systems and Computer Applications CLEP test this morning on my way to work.  Passed with with a 76/80.  Needed 50/80 to get credit for the Microcomputer Applications class at school.  So whee... one less class to take.
12th-Apr-2007 04:34 pm - Schoolness
Saturday morning
Well, I got a 96 on the most recent history test and a 100 on the Windows Server test.  The Windows class is really easy though so I went into it expecting an A.  With the 96 on the history test the chances for an A in that class are getting pretty good.
1st-Mar-2007 03:55 pm - More grade stuff
Saturday morning
Well, I didn't screw up the Unit II essay as badly as I'd figured:

Thought Question 2   88 / 100   88% / B   A good job for the most part but finally you don’t give your opinion about the efficacy of classical economics in the modern world. A few writing and editing mistakes.

so far I have a 93 for the class.
8th-Feb-2007 01:52 pm - Gradeness
Saturday morning
Well, got a 94 on my first history test.  Maybe I don't suck at this school thing. :)

Now to start researching this for the end of the month:

QUESTION: What do you think of the ideas underpinning "classical economics" first developed in the early 19th century? Do you support or oppose them? Do laissez-faire, Malthus' ideas on overpopulation, and the "iron law of wages" provide any answers to the problems the world faces today?
