Oh my goodness...
That is all.
Onigiri - My Style
- Rice cooker (I'm lazy)
- 2 cups of uncooked short grain rice
- 1/2 package of smoked, seasoned salmon
- Nori sheets cut into shortish strips 2inches wide * optional, but tasty
- Toasted sesame seeds
- Sushi vinegar
- Table salt
- 1/3 cup measure
1. Cook rice in rice cooker, use slightly less water.
2.Take out hot rice, put into a large bowl. Mix in sushi vinegar to taste, stir in carefully to avoid crushing the rice while blowing on it to cool it faster. (that makes it shiny)
3. fill the 1/3 cup measure with rice.
4. wet and salt hands, then take rice out of the 1/3 cup, pack into a ball, sprinkle with sesame seeds, wrap a piece of nori on. Make 4 of these.
5. mix salmon bits into remaining rice - don't use too much - it's very strong. Repeat 3-4 until done.
It's simple and the safeway that lives across the street from me has all the ingredients. Why is rice so good? I'm especially fond of the plain ones.
HOLY CRAP
I put up a few posts on CL and now I'm up to my EYEBALLS in gigs.
Good lord!
I had NO IDEA it would work so well.

Havanese puppies!
Some years ago, my mother got out of breeding parrots and switched to small dogs. At first it was Poms, but later she got some Havanese (two girls and one male). After a few years of chilling out and being dogs, we have our first litter.
...the puppies are tiny fluffy balls of pure cuteness.
SO CUTE!!!

Faerie Worlds Pictures
The Festival was fantastic - the music was amazing, the food was tasty, and the vendors were many. I had a particularly lovely moment just before sunrise, hanging out with some people around the fire.

Blah blah blah...mathmathmath
I got 100% on my last three quizzes.
All this really proves is that my short term memory works, and the ability of numbers to switch places in my head is well balanced out with a calculator.
In order to cut through my amazingly thick lack of math interest, I end up learning the content by taking lots AND lots of little breaks, rewarding a few min. of genuine attention with a few min of ...something else.
Oddly, this works better than forcing myself to pay attention when I really don't want to - and is probably why the online math course works better for me than the classroom.
There are a lot of people in my life who are very, very good at this kind of thing - unfortunately I have to mire my way through it without their help (unless I really, honestly get stuck and ask for it) because the somewhat slow process of figuring it out (as opposed to having it explained to me) actually helps me more.

I are a slackerz.
So, playtime is over. Time to crack my own whip - I have fun things planned later this month, which means I have crap to get done before then.
- Two websites (one for my mother, one for Aurelio)
- Math finals
...In the meantime, I will try to remember than my body needs food and enjoy prepping for August 1st, and the Fae festial in Oregon

Small Victories!
After a long time being cowed, but also intrigued, by the whole concept of Flash websites, I have broken the ice !!
Even though it began as a template, I not only successfully navigated the code to make desired changes - I also managed to put it up LIVE and WORKING. I have learned much in only a few hours just from poking around.
Much of the text is still in latin and yet to be changed, and I still need to switch out the images with Aurelio's black and white photography, (which is actually far more complicated than you would think.)... but I can't help but feel all excited anyway.
Too see this animated triumph, click the following link, and make sure your flash player is installed:

Things I have been called today~!
...Is it a reality check?
- full of life and confidence
(yay!)
- articulate
(really?)
- immature
(but that's so much fun...I like my painted dart guns.)
- overconfident
(Luckily my fear of heights keeps me in check)
- undereducated
( Hey now, I'm trying to fix that!)
- smug.
(and don't forget sassy!)
- repeatedly points out the mistakes of others with precision... to perhaps reinforce her superior status
(ew. Um...okay, less of that)
- very normal
(dammit!!)
- will in time become a formidable woman.
(double yay)
- has a lot of growing up to do
( I can't argue with that)
- communicating with her always turns into her discourse on how she feels, what she wants, and what she thinks I should be doing or feeling.
(EW. okay, less of that too. But...I don't think I do that all the time.)
...Woah. That's a lot of potential reality in one day.
Although I have to say, I've never considered myself particularly articulate.

A quest!
I'm off to the greenlake library on a quest for a test proctor, I have about three tests I need to take. I also need to get stamps, to mail said tests... if I cant scrounge some from Raouls stash, maybe Safeway sells them. I hope they do.
I have succeeded with my experimental "flamethrower" and while I was testing it Canth came out on the deck to give me a hug... and I accidentally squeezed the trigger, dowsing her black t-shirt with white flour. There was much laughing. It definately works.
I also taught a lady how to paint water with acrylics, and started a painting of a fresh water alligator to show her the basics. I should have chosen a frog instead, as I'm more likly to find someone who would want to buy it. I'll probably spend the rest of my evening painting the scales on his wet reptile head.

DAMMIT.

ART Projects!
I have been sucked into LARPs, table top games, card games... and goddammit, sometimes those things are just LOTS of fun. Especially when it involves beating someone over the head with foam weaponry.
My newest project, will be to make these:
These are NERF dart guns that have been painted to look steampunk. I approve.
... I also have plans to make a game legal "flame thrower" that won't look as nice, but aught to work REALLY well.
Also, I think I might get one of these things, 'cause they're gorgeous:
