I love this....today's Independent, from the article Chirac honours the village that saved Jews from Nazis. "It is estimated that 3,000 Jews were saved by the people of Chambon-sur-Lignon, compared to the 1,200 rescued by Oskar Schindler, the Austrian businessman celebrated in the 1993 movie Schindler's List." I was unaware that Schindler and the Chambon-sur-Lignon villagers were involved in a competition to see who could rescue the most Jews. Oh, they weren't? THEN WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS COMPARISON?
