I just saw this! The recent Gonzales news is bizarre and a bit frightening to say the least. I assume you're already up on the whole creepy rush to the hospital/deputy attorney general situation? He should have been out on his ass a long time ago, what with his shady behavior and his blatant disregard for the Constitution. I'm still fully convinced he's had the text of it printed out on enough cushy 2-ply toilet paper to last his entire lifetime.

Too true. I'm constantly amazed that more people aren't aware of what's going on because the offenses and crimes of the Administration have become incredibly brazen. Then again, I just tuned in to Hannity & Colmes out of curiosity (so help me) and they were covering everything BUT this story, so I guess it's really no wonder. On the slightly brighter side, a couple of friends I have here who were staunch Texas Republicans have become incredibly disenchanted and have started to wonder if they're actually more liberal than they thought.

My head spins a bit when I think about the 2008 election. I don't know if you caught clips of the most recent Republican debate on FOX but it was basically a bonanza of suck. Mitt Romney calling for double Guantanamos and repackaging torture as "extreme interrogation techniques", the others with the exception of Ron Paul trying to outdo each other on the patriotism scale with a triple helping of Reagan worship. We're in for one hell of a year, I guarantee it.

Slight aside. The article states that he plans to resign in June. Surely if he says he's leaving, he's already resigned? There seems to be a growing fashion for powerful men stroking their egos by announcing when they plan to make an announcement. It's like announcing that you will be getting engaged next month. It doesn't make sense.

Well at least he's leaving. He'll be on the lecture circuit with our Tony next. Let's hope they both take the plane with the wobbly landing gear.
