It's the telephone box movie! Run!
This thing scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. Now that British telly doesn't bother itself with short films anymore, it's nice to see it popping up again on You Tube.

I wonder if this film is the reason mobile phones were invented!

You might like to know tha there was an advert on Spanish TV recently with the same actor, José Luis López Vázquez, parodying / forming a sequel to the movie...

Used to scare the hell out of me too. That one and the London to Brighton train journey in three minutes. I mean, who wants to be in Brighton in three minutes?

Howyez, Graham!

I remember that film and I was only thinking of it last week. I think RTE showed it at least three times in the early 70s.

Bloody magnificent. European surrealism at its best.

Kids watch crap TV now. No Lolek and Bolek. No Magic Pencil (or what ever it was in Serbo-Croat). No Mr. Magoo or that cartoon with the portable hole that showed up frequently on the box. What an idea that was. And those German cartoons done with silhouettes.

Yeah, it's all Japanese shite now.

Such is life.

Regards,

djp

this film haunted me since I watched it last with my father in about 1977. Don't think he realized it was so terrifying, (i was about 6!!!) i remembered it really well visually though. Maybe because it was subtitled. Never thought i'd see it again...
