Don't usually shill for the Guardian, but...
You should get the Guardian today. Good piece on Ingmar Bergman by Joe Queenan. Ah, I remember the days when, late at night, Channel 4 would run a Bergman season. Happy days, happy days...

indeed, thought both the time and guardian innards were very good today, suprised at the anti-channel four article in the G2, but in a lot of repects they deserved it, funny how father ted and brass eye are now seen as classics in the channel 4 archive, especially with the brass eye will they won't they show it shenanigans at the time.

as one who grew up with the red triange films and enjoyed the likes of tromas edge tv and the night trips stuff I wonder what todays young film geeks get from ch 4 when all there is at night is leo sayer not being able to sleep.

I'll happily shill for the Saturday Guardian – the Review section is excellent. I'm unfamiliar with Bergman but his Wikipedia entry is impressive – can you recommend a good starting point? On films, there was a good one on BBC 4 last weekend – Aaltra – http://www.aaltra-roadmovie.com – have you seen it?
