I'm a big fan of Black Books, watching it here on BBC America.

Please feel free to stop by, comment, send an email, whenever you like noting your upcoming projects, how you feel about the day, what you ate for lunch, whatever.

It's a pleasure.

If only there was someone who could be significantly blamed for the Iraq mess, then the Republicans could evade the joint responsibility that would severely wound their election strategy. Could there be such a thing as a human 'scape-goat'? Oh, it's too much to hope for. Too much! Dreamy me!

I feel rather bad about the nasty, sarcastic tone of the above, written after a Very Long Day. My apology consists of this YouTube clip from Mr Show - do you know Mr Show? Anway, it's powerful good.

No need to apologise--I didn't really understand your initial comment.

Fantastic link, Graham!
Jon Stewart is great.
Loving the commentaries on my Father Ted DVDs - how come there's noting on series 3?
In your opinion is there room for a school-based sitcom on TV? I work in the most bizarre independent school on earth! It's got to be worth writing about.
Francis.

hoping to do a series 3 commentary someday...

as for school sitcom, I once had the idea of updating 'Please, Sir' and calling it 'Fuck off, Sir'.

I didn't really. School sitcoms are hard because it's next to impossible to get child actors who haven't been in stage school from the age of 2 ('Please, Sir' famously got around this problem by casting thirty year olds as children).

And I don't mean this in a nasty way, but everyone thinks the place where they work would be perfect for a sitcom. Funny thing is, they never, ever, ever write an episode to test the theory, which really is the least they have to do (if you are one of the first to do so, please don't send it to me. I swear to you, I will never read it.)

Thank you for your reply, Graham, and I appreciate your honesty. I'm sure you get asked questions like that all the time. I will persevere with this project, however. My colleague and I have already got things mapped out with strong characters. It has to be worth a shot!
Regards.
