mmm salmon

am enjoying a short lunch break, leftover salmon from dinner last night is so goood! my little brother and father went fishing this weekend, they caught 4 salmon so I get a share in the bounty. hooray.

other news, the van is still broken. promptly after i paid lots of money to get the master cylinder repaired and such the car refuses to hold a charge -- ie to start without a jump. argh. i take it in tomorrow for the fix-it guy to examine again. i hope i don't have to pay more money and they just reconnected some wire wrong or something. bleh.

that is all. except at somepoint i want someone to sit down and discuss with me the pros and cons of my going away to law school in SF idea. because most people i've talked to about it are more interested in giving me their opinion then helping me find out mine. so i need some help debating possibilities and probabilities and upsides and downsides and so forth. please?

i hear financial aid is somewhat based on my LSAT scores (which I haven't taken yet), I'm sure I can get loans. I also recently heard that even their full-time program is only 3 days a week, so it might actually be possible to work some at the same time, though I was kind of hoping to not have to do that -- 'cause the homework will be crazy.

And we'd only be gone 3 years, we're pretty committed to HumCo, and maybe by the time we came back the weird housing cost bubble will have receded somewhat and housebuying may again become feasible.

I'd be happy to talk with you about city life. While there are certainly aspects that can make it difficult (like expenses and the large job pool), there are many reasons that make city life the obvious choice. We should do coffee sometime....give me a ring...you should have my number and we can make plans!

i saw yr number somewhere in the mess that is mike's desk. i will search for it. one thing we are contemplating is if it's worth it to live in the east bay (cheaper) and have me commute (college is in the mission district). also depends on where mike think's he'd want to go to school too.

I've lived in Berkeley and SF, so I've got the scoop on both sides of the bay...I'll be going down to SF this weekend and I work M-F 9-6, but other than that I'm free. I'm looking forward to seeing you...it's been a while!
