We raised him from a little thing just about 2 weeks old! had him here in the yard with his 2 siblings until most of their adult feathers were in, then they spent the past several months free-ranging in the mountains with Q's brother. Back here for about a week, getting fattened up with grain and apples. Then to be shared with the family tomorrow. Full circle.
I have projects and stuffs too! More news soon. Also, I am excited about all the lovely home canned goods we have in our house! We will have tasty peaches in January!
I let the turkeys out today for the first time, they are about 6-7 weeks old and until today I wasn't certain they were all boys. However, their first mission when they were out of the coop was to puff up and seek to establish dominance -- all of them puffed up and two of them got fairly confrontational. I intervened a little -- didn't want any blood shed and to establish I'm bigger than all of them. Then they settled down to explore the yard a bit.
good book! i didn't know it was a series when i picked it up, makes it even better to know that there is more to come with these characters and in this setting.
i haven't intentionally sat down with some fiction other than for school for a long time, it felt good to just read for the pleasure of reading.
and now I get some letters to put after my name too!
grad school has been a tough two years, I have learned a lot about myself as well as how I want to work with people and what's truly important.
i don't think i would be half as sane at this moment without the amazing support of my awesome sweetie. it's been so wonderful to have so much support and encouragement and love, backing me all the way.
guess its time to....
it should say celebrate, relax, spend time withe loved ones, right?
