Well... OT3, rather.

(Dude, I'm all kinds of inspired to post, now... I don't even know, man. I just hope this lasts a bit. lol.)

But anyway: who else out there is watching V? And please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks Jack/Hobbes/Erica would be the hottest thing evar?* I mean, truth be told, I've been torn between Jack/Erica and Hobbes/Erica for quite some time, now; so, it's hard to believe I didn't think of this sooner! (Considering how obviously slashy Jack and Hobbes are, with all that wonderful tension between them.)

In fact, if anyone has ANY fic recs — and I mean, any possible combination of these three characters — you would be forever my hero. Tru fax.

* Admittedly, I feel a tad guilty about this because Jack is Catholic. But at least he's no longer a priest? I don't know. I'm a little bit torn, here... but if I'm honest, I have been shipping him and Erica for months (even before he lost the collar). So, I guess, if nothing else... this isn't much worse.

Besides— he's fictional. I'm not saying real Catholics should go have threesomes with other dudes. So, you know. >_>

House 7x05: Unplanned Parenthood

Way too busy/sleepy/overwhelmed by other thoughts to say everything I might otherwise like to say — other than that it was a pretty great episode. But I do have a couple quick comments, and a question:

1) Am I the only one who was SO TOTALLY feeling the House/Foreman/Cuddy vibes in this one? I'm not usually one for OT3s, as some of you may know... but dude. I could so get into that. Fo' srs. (Somebody gimme some H/F/C fic recs, plz? *makes eyes*)

2) Vintage House/Wilson, ftw! \o/ (And I don't mean that in an overtly slashy way... because, believe it or not, I do not ship those two. I know; I'm like the only person in the world who doesn't, right? But! I love their friendship. And I love it when they have those moments like they did at Cuddy's. That's truly what makes them great.)

3) RACHEL CUDDY IS THE CUTEST THING THAT EVER EXISTED. THAT IS ALL.

4) Really sucks about Dr. Chang. I liked her so much. :(:(:(

Thoughts? Responses? Impassioned arguments? If you watch House, I'd love to know your take on this one.

Another great show that is not a big headliner, so I doubt many of you (if any at all) are watching it. I won't recommend it to those who want deep emotional issues and profound social commentary, complex plots, or outstanding acting (let me be clear: I'm not saying the acting is bad. I'm just saying it's not outright Oscar-worthy). But if you like cute, fun, lighthearted comedy-drama with a nostalgically 90s feel, then this is definitely a show you will enjoy.

Anyway...

One thing that really bothered me about this episode is how black & white it was (er... bad pun definitely not intended) in terms of the Joey/Bianca/Chastity triangle. I mean, I get it: Bianca is the protagonist. She's the one we're supposed to root for. But guess what? For once, Chastity is not the bad guy here. When Bianca told Joey, "Chastity has convinced all the other cheerleaders that I'm breaking the Girl Code," as if said accusation were some heinous lie, I physically cringed. Because you know what, Bianca? You are breaking the Girl Code. And shame on you for not seeing it!

I'll be the first to admit that Chastity is kind of a bitch. She was a terrible girlfriend to Joey, and not a very good friend to Bianca, either. But nonetheless, it was Bianca's choice whether or not to be friends with Chastity. Nobody forced her. And if she truly did/does consider Chastity a friend, then what she did was a clear violation of that. Pure and simple.

The writing in this episode makes it out as if it's ridiculous to fault someone for dating a friend's ex, as long as the couple has clearly broken up. But I disagree, strongly. An ex dating your friend is not the same as dating a stranger. It's awkward, painful, often even humiliating. I'm not saying you can never date anyone who has dated someone you know; and sometimes, you end up choosing love over friendship. But if you care about the friendship at all, if you want to be a decent person, then you at least try to MAKE SURE YOUR FRIEND IS OKAY WITH IT before you start dating their ex. And you sure as heck don't start going out with them mere days after the couple has broken up. Even if it's your friend who initiated the breakup... you respect the relationship that has ended, and you give them time to move on, before you pounce on their leftovers like a piece of meat.

What's worse is: Bianca knew that Chastity wasn't over Joey. She didn't want to get back together, but she wasn't ready to see him dating someone new; and she told Bianca this, in no uncertain terms. If Bianca were a real friend to Chastity, she wouldn't have just kept the relationship a secret (which still would've been better) — she would've told Joey that they need to cool it until Chastity has moved on. If she and Joey really care about each other, they could have waited to be together.

Instead, Bianca plays the innocent victim in all this while practically rubbing her new relationship with Joey in Chastity's face, and Chastity is the one who gets painted as the villain (along with anyone who's being a real friend and standing by her, instead of taking Bianca's side). I ask you: how is this fair?

Other random thoughts:

✖ How does Patrick being an ass only make him hotter? Seriously... how?

✖ Cameron is tall. Boy-howdy! He needs to stop trying to date short girls, maybe. (Which makes shipping Cameron/Chastity really hard, let me tell you. >_>)

✖ Oh yeah, I ship Cameron/Chastity. Come on, don't tell me you guys don't see it! True, they've barely said a word to each other all season... but still, how awesome would it be if they hooked up? Queen Bitch and the Geek: it's classic, man. (I blame Freaks and Geeks for this. And Buffy to a lesser extent.)

✖ I'm realizing: Joey is kinda shallow. I still like him... but I would like him more if he understood that having the "whitest teeth" is not the most important characteristic in a boyfriend. And that whole "I'm Joey Donner" argument? I mean, he's a nice guy, but he needs to get over himself.

✖ I love smug!Kat. So, so much.

✖ I'm a little annoyed that it's been so long since the first half of the season, I can't remember if we already knew Mandela was gay. But! How cute is it that she has a girlfriend now? I love how Kat just assumed "when you're in a new relationship" was about her and Patrick, and then was proven wrong. ...I totally called that, by the way. :P

✖ Ack. Is everybody going to start saying "Katrick" now? Please, no.

...Not that it matters much, since nobody around here seems to watch that show. (Don't know why. It's quite good. And has hot guys, besides.)

Anyway. I am seriously starting to ship Jax and Hale — the deputy police chief — I think. And it's not just that authority figure/outlaw is my [not-so-]secret kink. They're also both pretty... and boy, they hate each other. (Well, more accurately, Sam Crow (the local SoA charter) hates non-corrupt law enforcement, and said law enforcement hates them; but that's pretty close.)

It's a lovely combination.

It's actually a bit strange for me to start developing a slash OTP so early into a series — considering I usually stick to het when it comes to most television. And when I do rarely start liking a slashy pairing, half the time it'll get Jossed by one character leaving or something; or the way they totally killed Sean/Christian on Nip/Tuck, when they had to go and show the future, destroying all possibility that they would end up together (at least until they're very old). They were such rooster-teasers with that, grr. Building up the slashers' hopes, then crushing them...

Sorry, rant over. My uh, point is... it's kinda weird. And I don't know if it'll last. But right now, I love the idea of them together. I mean, I don't kid myself that anything will ever happen in canon to lend merit to this pairing — beyond a lot more glaring and banter (and maybe even a fistfight or two... mmm), which can always be interpreted as UST. But if there's fic out there about them? Prefarably having hot, angly hate!sex... especially if there's dub-con... I would read it in a heartbeat.

*resists running off to look for it this very moment*

...And I get that we're all supposed to ship Jax with whatshername, the doctor. Maybe I will, eventually. I do kinda like her, and I guess she and Jax could be sweet together... but I don't really see a ton of appeal at this point. Maybe it's that I missed the first two episodes — I mean, in the ones I've seen, they've barely said two words to each other.

Meanwhile? I feel rather bad for that new blond chick. She was pretty, and seemed really nice (if I little bit easy), but I think she got in way over her head. And true, Jax did sorta save her from an abusive boyfriend... but she didn't even get to be with him in the end. I mean, I don't know if we'll see her again— maybe we will, maybe they'll even hook up again. But still.

I really liked the brunette, though — the waitress over at the Devil's Tribe club. She was selling herself out a little bit, but she was really smart about it at the same time, and seemed to know what was going on better than some of the bikers. Never mind that she's young and tiny, she was right about having what it takes to make a great Old Lady, I think. She could totally be Gemma one day.

Now, her I would love to see again. Though I kinda doubt it. Unless they end up going to Nevada a lot. ...Or, if she really does head over to Charming one day, and finally hook up with That Guy. Anybody from Terminus who's reading this: no, not That Guy. *cough*

Celebratory Drabbles!

Well, as promised (twice now; if anyone actually noticed), here are some sentence drabbles for you all in honor of my birthday. And a couple of these are actually from requests, so yay on that as well. :P

Notes:

- The first PotC drabble is for drbillbongo. (I also have your BBM one written, so that might be in the next batch.) As to the pairing — you said Norrington/anyone. So it's your own fault. *g*

- The second for PotC is actually a reference to a ficlet I'm working on (which is finished, but waiting to be beta read *cough*). This is based on a line I liked but couldn't fit into the fic, so figured it would make a good drabble instead.

- The HP is for moshi, who's been waiting an insane amount of time for it. Erm... sorry it took this long, darling. *guilty blush*

- kriken, your H/D's done... but didn't fit with Mosh's S/S, and I didn't want them competing for attention. Should be up with the next batch, though.

Pirates of the Caribbean

1) He hadn’t been in love with her since she was ten (he wasn’t that perverse), but maybe this was the problem — she ended up with somebody who had.

2) Jack sways forward, leaning in much too close, all full lips and thick lashes and the smell of rum on his breath; painfully pretty and as impossible as sin... a sin Norrington knows all too well.

Good Omens

There are those who mourn loudly, who scream their grief at the world by slamming doors and breaking furniture, by acting more and more like impertinent brats, forcing their foul disposition on everyone around them; there are those who mourn quietly, who carry on the façade while they lock themselves up inside, push themselves into further destitution, fencing off the comforts of friends and refusing to live when the other is no longer living; and then there are those who don’t mourn at all, who simply learn their lessons from tragedy — Black was a fool in the end, nothing more... and Snape won’t make the mistake of loving a fool again.

Woo!! Made it before 12 1 (just barely)! Alright, well, here's that third installment:

I had to go with what inspiration I had, and in some cases the muse may have been more generous; doesn't mean I intentionally put more or less effort into any of these. Also, seeing as drawbles are meant to be a casual thing, I tried not to be a perfectionist about them; but if you're unhappy with the quality of yours, don't feel guilty about asking me to fix it up a little more. :)

Unofficial artist's notes, again:

1a. I'm not actually sure how in character overt antagonism is between these two; but I think that was what Jedi wanted, so. Although, now that I think about it, being as they're both in Voldemort's inner circle (one can assume)... there could quite possibly be some head-butting over rank and favor and such. So, yeah, that works.

1b. At first I rather thought this wasn't my best Snape (particularly because it seemed I might've overdone the nose), but the more I look at it the more I like him. Especially how his hair came out, though.

1c. Lucius, on the other hand, I've loved from the start (am I allowed to say that about my own work?). Most of all his nose, ironically enough. But, mmm... I should so make a point to draw more Lucius. Seriously.

1d. Once again, that is Lucius's cheekbone (and temple), not wisps of hair.

1e. Hmm, I wonder if Hils would be amused by this. It's probably her fault I thought of it in the first place.

2a. If this is weird or not what was expected, well... blame my love of sequential art. And the fact that it was the first thing that popped into my head. I really couldn't not go with it.

2b. Oh, look! A brick wall and some tombstones. Pretty original scenery, no?

2c. I kinda hate Spike's mouth in the second frame. But it was one of those things I couldn't really erase once it was drawn, unfortunately. :\

2d. Oh, and I completely forgot the ridges. Oops.

2e. But... duster! *squees with rekindled Spike!fangirl glee*

3a. I was particularly proud of myself for this one. It is definitely my favorite out of the whole bunch. >:D

3b. Though, I do not know why Groves's legs seem to be longer than Norrington's. Oh, well. Oops.

3c. And I wasn't certain, at first, how to make sure it was evident that this is Norrington and Groves and not Jack Dav and Greg Ellis... but then, wigs! Um, yeah. That's probably not as clever as I thought it was at the time, huh? But at any rate, silk bows are love. So there's that.

3d. Oh, and do note Norrington's pattern. This I do think was actually fairly clever. Or at least reasonably cute. *dork*

1c. Gee, Lavender's tall. No, wait... Charlie's just short. Yeah, that works. Though, Ron should be taller than he ended up being, probably.

1d. But, look! I even got Ron's movie!hair! Not Hermione's, but she's cuter with the 'fro, so.

1e. Yay, Weasley sweater!

2a. Draco's nose is really long. But I think it works pretty well, so it's ok. Part of the whole "pointed face" thing, I suppose.

2b. Also, he's wearing a school uniform, but looks rather older than 17 (more like in his 20's methinks). I think that's a hazard of the style I'm using — won't let you make anyone look particularly young. (But I'm sure Kriken won't mind too much — what was it you were saying about conveniently adult-looking middle school kids? ;))

2c. Also also... I tried for long hair, since I know Kriken digs that, but it completely did not work out. Actually had to spend a good amount of time erasing it. Blah. Will work on long-haired!Draco more later.

3a. Well, Hill said something along the lines of "Snack would be good," and I just couldn't help myself. Yes, I'm being a bit of a hypocrite. But I'm sure the universe will forgive me. (And JediPirate will get a kick out of it, so it's all good. *g*)

3b. Snape's mouth looks exactly like Sirius's mouth in the first version of this drawble, which ended up turning into something else. I feel like that's ironic somehow.

3c. Also, his hair is really curly. I'm not sure how that happened... but I guess I sorta went with it. Sirius's ended up curlier to match.

3d. Speaking of which, I need to get back into drawing Sirius with less full-bodied hair. Not that it doesn't look good on him, but I liked the flatter look as well (kinda like in this icon), and I rather miss that. Of course, I cannot for the life of me draw it completely straight... but it's alright, plenty of other artists manage it quite well.

3e. I'm not sure at this point which one — if either — of them is voicing the question. I realize Sirius is the one with his mouth open, but that was just meant to be a look of vague confusion. Well, anyway.

3f. And despite the cheesy pun, this is actually one of my favorites out of all of them (and so not even 'cause I like the pairing). I just really enjoy this style; and especially like Snape, who came out slightly more, erm, stylized. Plus... fine, the bad joke amuses me as well. :P

3g. Oh, and I really like their wands, too. ...And no, I will not make a joke about that. Not at all.

Gack, I hate posting stuff in the afternoon — it always makes me feel like people are that much less likely to see it. Oh, well. I'll post these to communities tomorrow morning, I guess.

3b. Don't ask me how Lucius ended up with that devil-beard. I guees it kinda suits him, though, doesn't it?

A couple Veronica Mars thoughts

Just some random stuff... but it's not so short, and also spoilerish of the latest episode, so it should probably be cut.

(Please note: none of my post tags should be taken as indication of anything that might've happened in this episode. They relate only to the general subject matter of my thoughts.)

1. Ok, first, something that applies to [more or less] the whole season, but which was particularly reinforced with this last episode: I am finding it very, very difficult not to ship Logan/Hannah.* I mean, I still really want for Logan to end up with Veronica (and for Veronica to end up with Logan, which is a separate if equally strong desire). Yet on the other hand, there's Hannah, who's just so pretty and sweet and adorably flirtatious... but also has a strong personality and isn't shallow, and is actually nice without being annoyingly nice like Meg.** Plus, I love how she seems innocent but really isn't, quite. You get very few fictional characters like that.

Grr, this is so hard. It's like when Veronica was dating Leo, whom I also couldn't help liking and rooting for... only it's that much stronger this time (and, I mean, that scene in Logan's hotel room? HOT. Way hotter than Logan and Kendall ever was, definitely). Please don't kill me for saying this, but a part of me kind of hopes that if Hannah comes back, it eventually does end in some tragic and irreversible way — so I won't have to choose between her and Veronica, or see Logan break her heart the way Veronica broke Leo's.

2. Ok, show of hands: who else kept thinking the super!nice tour guide guy was gonna wind up being the rapist?

3. But seriously, though, how cool was it that both Maeby and George-Michael (er... I mean, Alia Shawkat and Michael Cera) were guest-starring in this episode? I mean, it had made me a little bouncy to see Michael, at first... but when Alia appeared on screen I almost fell out of my chair with the squee. And, yes, I'm sure everyone who reads production news for this show was already aware of this beforehand, or maybe it was even mentioned in last week's trailer... But, yeah. I obviously didn't know.

4. So, ok, this is going to make me sound stupid, but I'm confused: was the [formally] long-haired guy the rapist, or what? I thought it couldn't be him because he was in the hospital. But then, who the heck was it? How could I have just completely missed the solution to the mystery?

5. Ok, this has nothing to do with much of anything, but I find I'm quite enamored with the idea of Madison doing the town sheriff (or at least making out with him in elevators, at any rate). It's just so deliciously skanky of her. And Lamb... Oh, Lamb. You shallow, sexy bastard, you.***

*Which, by the way, is quite different from shipping Jack/Sawyer (while Kate/Sawyer still being my OTP) on Lost. First off, Logan/Hannah is actually an active cannon pairing, rather than something that's only there by way of subtext, so it has a much greater opportunity of hurting the chances of V/L.

Likewise... I'm not sure I should say this for fear of rotten fruit thrown by angry slashers... but you have to admit, a slash pairing in a fandom with a largely heterosexual canon (particularly for TV fandoms, where it gets constantly reinforced) feels just a bit AU. Which there's nothing wrong with, mind! But it's not quite in the same league as the het stuff you might see happening on screen.

**Sorry, I've gotten to dislike Meg this season. Last season she wasn't my favorite character, but I was fine with her; but this season, I don't know. It's most likely Duncan's fault and his perception of her, which made her a lot more annoying than she probably ever was in actuality.

As I mentioned earlier (though, I don't know if anyone remembers), moshi was writing a B/S fic (for meeeee!!). Well, it's been posted now, and you should all go read it.

It's short, but full of lovely angst and UST, and the characterization is right on the money. I'm sure all of you who are B/S fans — and maybe even those who aren't — would love it.

Even though this is a cartoon, it still completely breaks my heart. And I think that really says something — to be able to create something so powerful within such a seemingly simple medium.

Spontaneous sentence drabbles! (Wow, I haven't done these in forever, huh?)

Well, y'all can thank moshi for reminding me that it was Ron's birthday today. And my muse for being ever so accommodating at the last minute.

Harry Potter

1) Ronald Bilius Weasley, lace-wearer; he was never going to live this one down.

2) Clutching the golden cup in his hand as his teammates lifted him up above their shoulders, Ron couldn’t help but for a moment remember the mirror, and think with a thrill, Sometimes it does tell the truth...

3) She isn’t as pretty as Lavender, isn’t mysterious or enticing like Fleur; at best she’s just regular old Hermione, and at worst she’s a pretentious know-it-all, annoying, infuriating... so maybe that’s why Ron can’t stop thinking about her.

4) Ron Weasley is 15, and he’s got teenage hormones, ones that don’t always know up from down — so if watching a guy like Malfoy smirk that debonair smirk and run a hand though that lustrous hair (while talking to some girl Ron doesn’t even notice) makes him shiver or his face grow hot, it’s only because Ron hates the git so much, he’s sure.

As promised yesterday, here is the second part of my gift to rajrr for the Art Exchange.

Like I mentioned when posting the first piece, I had some trouble figuring out what I wanted Krum to look like. So this is a different take on him (except for the nose, which I guess I liked too much to change), and a slightly different drawing style as well.

Wow, my firstest art post ever. A momentous occasion, no?

To the one or maybe two of you on my f'list who know I draw but have yet to see any of my art and have been waiting to, here you finally go. To everyone else... um... I hope you enjoy this as well. (Remember, lots of comments will motivate me to scan more of my work!)

Oh, and... be warned that this is a bit image-heavy. I couldn't resist adding a couple detail close-ups.

I'd also like to note that I meant to use the quarter's theme — color — in this, but that didn't pan out; so, to compensate, I have another drawing which I hope you'll also have a look at.

I did struggle some with both their looks, because Asian features are a bit hard for me to draw, and as for Krum I just didn't have a clear picture of him in my head... but in the end this was a lot of fun. And a great learning experience, too, drawing characters other than those I normally draw (mostly Marauders, the Malfoy family, and the Trio).

Wavy-haired!Cho may seem a bit weird to some, but I've always liked imagining her that way myself — I can't rightly recall whether something in the books put the idea in my head, or if I thought of it on my own... but I suppose it's not important. Just hope everyone is aware that this is in fact Cho, not Hermione. :P

Why the heck do I not have kitschist friended? This girl is a genius, and I never get to see any of her work unless I stumble upon it by accident. Shame on me.

Anyway, this is almost three weeks old and has three pages of comments already, so my guess is most people who care about this sort of thing have already seen it... but I just couldn't help posting about this. Nebulaean drew Remus/Narcissa!! *falls over from the squee*

Um... Yeah. As some of you might know, this is an OTP of mine, and probably the rarest of the bunch. Sadly, almost no one ever seems to write or draw it. So I'm sure you can understand my excitement here. And to have it drawn by such a talented artist... wow. If I had nothing else to be thankful for today, this would be it. :D:D:D

Now, I know there are at least two or three people on my f'o list who don't look at HP fanart regularly, but can still appreciate it. So, if you're one of them: Go! Look! Appreciate! Remember to leave Neb some feedback,* and feel free to tell me what you thought of it too.

Good News and Random Pluggage

So, I tried to post on Tuesday (at school), but for some reason it didn't work *kicks Semagic*. Just as well, though -- it was just me whining about having no inspiration for "All About the Girl," and being generally depressive. No one needs to see that.

Meanwhile, I do have a couple reasons to feel better: not only does my baby, Retrospective, have 3 whole shiny new members this week, but it won "best splash" AND "best fanlisting" at the Angelic Enemies Awards. (By the way, if anyone wants to make me even happier, go join.)

Oh, plus, I got some much needed ego stroking from nautibitz (*appreciative lick*) concerning my graphic skills, so now I'm all smiley. She's my favorite person right now. Can I have somebody call my work fantastic at least once a day, please?

You know who else is my favorite person? m_annalore. She's totally my hero for saving me from the grips rp-withdrawal, not to mention that she's amazing to play with, as always (I'm loving ours right now). And dude, if you're reading this... your writing skills are beyond words. I'm torn between sizzling with jealousy and worshiping at your feet.

Speaking of which... if anyone isn't reading Learning Curve yet... you must go read it! Read it now!

Also, go watch Chicago, if you haven't. Or even if you have. Hurry, run out and rent it right now, I say! Seriously, though... has to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. Really.
