I know I'm doing this sorta last minute, but...
Anybody out there going to Azkatraz this summer?
I'm sure of all the HP fans on my f'list, there must be someone going to San Francisco. And as you may have guessed, I don't have hotel plans yet. Basically, I'd just really like someone to room with who's not a complete stranger, y'know? Plus, it'd be really fun to get to know some of you guys better this way. (If someone has a room but no more free beds... I don't even mind sleeping on the floor if I have to.)
Anyway, please let me know? I'd be way in your debt. <3

that's what i'm doing for leakycon, too. i mean, i don't actually live in [or super close to] boston, but my mom has a few friends who are, like, 20 minutes from the hotel. so one of them is letting me sleep at her place for a few nights. + free food!
Bart's the best!
but seriously... i wish i had relatives or close friends in the area. you're totally lucky not to have to worry about that stuff.
(also also? it's always pretty awesome to meet fellow fanartists.)
you wouldn't happen to know if she needs a roommate, though, would you?
to be honest: this is the first con i've ever gone to (out of, what... five or six now?) where i didn't have close friends who were going, and thus guaranteed hotel arrangements. i'm kinda freaking out right now about having to find a place to stay. >_>
If it doesn't pan out, I really hope you find somebody to share with. I know what it's like going to cons where you don't know so many people, though I'm certain you'll make some nifty friends at Azkatraz. ♥
though, huh. i didn't realize Fiendling was even in the fandom still (i mean, i remember being really bummed last year when i found out she'd taken down her art site). though she's definitely someone i'd love to meet. :)
and... *glomps you for good measure*
I'll have my son with me, so it's unlikely I could stay at a hostel.
If I *do* manage a room somehow, I'll certainly keep you in mind. And if nothing else, we can totally hang out together!!!
and sure -- i'd love to hang out, either way. i haven't had time to even glance at the programming yet, so i have no idea what i'm going to be doing; but i'd gladly let you know once i figure it out. and you can feel free to do the same.
so happy at least someone i already know it going! :D (it sucks being at these things by yourself.)
I hear from Mosh that you're looking for rooming help.
I'm afraid I don't know anyone who's still looking for a roomie, however you could always stay in one of the hostels near to the con: http://www.sfhostels.com I know that the "downtown" hostel is really nearby.
I know several people are staying in hostels, so chances are, you may meet some fandomers. You can also post to the Azkatraz forums saying you're looking for a roomie, as I know there are still a few people there looking. I think the con hotel itself is fully booked, I'm afraid.
Hope that helps. :)
well, anyway -- thanks a lot for the tip! i'll definitely check out that hostel site (tomorrow, i think, since i'm pretty sleepy). hopefully i'll be able to figure out which one is the "downtown" one.
i'm sadly not too great at meeting people -- unless they start talking to me first -- but who knows. like Mosh said, maybe somebody else staying there will decide to take me under their wing. one can always hope. :)
