yuck

i am disgusted at the amout of waste we all produce. my work especially. 2 loads of garbage a day ....2-4 bags per load, and then theres the boxes. that could be significantly teduced. ok, first off...the boxes. they throw them out. no recycling boxes. and thats like prolly 25 boxes ish a day. thats a lot right there that can be cut down on. then there is the botted pop and juice and that that we sell, and the bottles just get thrown out. we sell recycable materials, yet we don't provide a recycle box to put them in. and all the food. perfectly good bread gets thrown out just cuz its a little hard, and we cant serve it. (although we serve what we can get away with) there are plenty of ppl in the world....not even the world, our neighbourhood, that could use bread to eat, even if it is hard. yet we just throw it out. and how about all the food we throw out, like the ends of tomatoes and other veggies when we cut them....cant that be composted? all we really need to throw away are the wrappers and bags that the food comes in, and that we serve it in..and the cups and that, but there is way too much waste going on there. and im sure many many many other buisnesses are similiar. at dollarama, the boxes were recycled and only grabage was thrown away. we didnt really have much food and that to waste, but at least we recycled the boxes...every time i do garbage at work, i feel like shit...its usually about 3 bags when i take it, and many boxes....

at home, i recycle, and we always eat our leftoers, and try our best not to let food be thrown out. we give away old clothes and those that are too tathered to give away we use as rags. small things can add up to a lot. it makes me sick to see how much waste one subway store produces...its wrong. i think i shall bring this up. at least question why we dont recycle.



and now, heres an update on life: i work a lot. at times i wish i worked less, but then i think about the money, and how good money is. then i think of those who have none, and no opportunity to make any. we complain about our minimum wage being only $7.45 an hour (which in about 2 years is going up to $8, by the way) and we dont think about people around the world, and again, in our own neighbourhood who would love to have that much money, and to be able to provide for themselves, and their own family.

somthing else i have been thinking about a lot lately: welfare... my brother and his girlfriend both recieve it. should our government and our tax dollars be paying this? in some caseses....yes...but very few. my brother and his gf both have places they could live if they didnt have it. they are both able to get jobs, they both had opportunities to graduate highschool, but neither have because of their own faults. so why should we have to pay for them to live? its their own stupid fault and not only do we pay for it through our taxes, but both of them have parents who have contributed to this...by giving them MORE MONEY. what the hell? my mom and dad dont give me money, cuz i have a job, but since my OLDER brother is BARLY tring to find a job, and has been fired from ...5? yeah 5 jobs, and "that wasnt his fault" and he hasnt graduated highschool so its harder, so here, lets give him money so that he doesnt have to work harder. fucking partents.

ne ways, so i was really gonna talk aobut me there and instead this is what its turned into.... there are other things on my mind, but ill save them for another time...

i have to go shwer and get ready for the shift i accepted today, 4-8 cuz trish is too hung over, and would like to sleep in until 8. she would have giving me her whole shift, if i was able to close. and now i have to miss lifeteen again, and i really wanted to go this time. but i told her yesterday i would take her shift if she called today, forgetting all about it. damnit. i wish i said no....and i bet ill have to work next sunday, maybe ill try to get the next lifeteen with a meeting after off so i can go to that. but ive requested a week off, and another day, and i have to get one more off, so ill see....maybe ill just switch shifts if i can....
