Basic Info
Name:Draco Malfoy
Bio

The Basics

Character Name: Draco Emile Luc Malfoy
PB: Boyd Holbrook

Age: 20
Birthday: June 5, 1980
Wand: Ash and dragon heartstring, ten and 3/4", bendy but resilient.
House in School: Slytherin
Bloodline: Pureblood

Political View: Draco's political view was never really his own. He grew up being told he was superior to Muggle-born and Half-blood witches and wizards and Muggle was practically a dirty word. He went through most of his life thinking that Voldemort had had the right idea. And then he actually got to meet Voldemort and things changed a bit. Draco's still weary of Muggles and he barely tolerates Muggle-borns and Half-bloods but after officially defecting to their side, he can't be quite sure where he stands anymore.
Appearance

Height: 5'11
Weight: 155 lbs
Eyes: Grey
Hair: Pale blonde
Build: Very thin and angular.
Dress Style: Draco's dress style used to be sharp and expensive, but for the last few years he's been reduced to dressing in dirty, ill-fitting robes and, most recently, itchy Muggle shirts and trousers. He hopes to get back to being able to dress like a proper Malfoy, even if he secretly likes how comfortable the Muggle clothes are.

Basic Physical Description: Draco’s a rather . . . pretty man and he’s always been somewhat androgynous. Having grown into his sharp features, he’s rather good-looking now with his father’s slate grey eyes, aristocratic bone structure, and a head of rather uniquely almost platinum blonde hair. He prefers to be clean-shaven over having any facial hair at all, but he got kind of used to it during the war and if he’s decided he needs to be a bit more manly, he’ll let it grow out a bit (with varying results. Sometimes he looks good and sometimes . . . sometimes he looks like a drug-addled pervert).

Draco’s always been thin and while in captivity he was practically emaciated, ribs protruding and everything. He’s gained a bit of that weight back and, though almost frighteningly skinny, he is looking quite a bit healthier. Still, Draco will never weigh very much and he will never tan. He’s a skinny, pale man with an almost feminine face.

Draco fancies himself to be rather attractive in spite of (or because of) it all.

Defining Marks: For most of his life Draco managed to maintain a body free of a single blemish, barring the small, black beauty mark behind his left ear. His sixth year he was subjected to the sectumsempra curse at Harry Potter's wand and the spell left a pale tracery of scars across his chest.

During his time in captivity, Voldemort saw fit to have his Death Eaters mar Draco's skin, knowing that every scar would probably be another blow to Lucius and Narcissa. As a result Draco has a series of lash marks across his back and faint scars across his wrists and throat, remnants of a few games of 'how much can someone bleed out before he dies?'.

Secretly Draco loathes the scars and what the stand for: weakness. However, he pretends that he considers them badges of honor and will show them off and tell stories of harrowing escapes from death with a smile.
Personality

Strengths: Draco is naturally a fiercely loyal person. He's rather innovative, creative and intelligent. He can be extremely independent, persistent, passionate and charismatic.

Weaknesses: Draco, in general, has something of a dual nature. While he is loyal, if he's scorned he holds a grudge and his loyalties may shift based on that. For all that he's creative and intelligent, he's rarely thorough. His independence often gives way to dependence on his loved ones and those he trusts, and his passions sometimes trickle down into his moods, making him violently hateful or crushingly depressed.

Likes: Draco likes to tease people, often mercilessly. Draco likes to look good and buy expensive things but he secretly likes getting dirty and doing things that his father and mother wouldn’t approve of. He generally likes to be the center of attention and he enjoys being and feeling important. He loves to fly almost as much as he loves to win. And he really loves to win. Draco likes to be loved and praised, has a thing for chocolate and pineapple and still likes to make potions.

Dislikes: Draco hates the quiet but he can’t stand most people and he especially can’t stand them amassed in a crowd. He doesn’t like sleeping because he can’t stand his dreams and has developed an addiction to coffee in an attempt to put off the inevitable. While he used to like to be touched, Draco can’t stand it now. He's more curious about sex than eager to have it and he doesn’t really believe in unconditional love. Draco doesn’t like vanilla, he hates bananas and the color red, and he can’t stand classical music or art.

Quirks: Draco's quirks include a rather bizarre sense of humor, a habit of cracking his knuckles that he picked up from Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, a disturbingly intense love of strawberries and the color green, the need to constantly grate on someone's nerves just because he can, and he never has gotten the hang of gripping the broom like Hooch taught him. When he's bored, Draco draws and animates stick figures.

General: Draco grew up with a certain set of ideals and beliefs that he thought were infallible. He was spoiled and arrogant and trusting, among other things. However, the war changed quite a bit of that. Draco, while still the same at his core is now very world-weary. He flinches away from casual touches and he doesn’t believe in things like trust and unconditional love, despite the fact that he knows them to exist. He still yearns to love and be loved but he’s terrified of being hurt again. Draco’s in a very vulnerable place both emotionally and psychologically right now and it’s reflected in his personality by his sudden detachment and increasing need to project a calm, well-adjusted facade to the world at large and to pretend that the things that happened to him, didn’t.
Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert:Draco is naturally extroverted and loves to perform and be in positions of importance. However, he does tend to hide his true self away from even those that he considers close friends for fear of having his weaknesses manipulated.
Boggart Would Be: Draco's Boggart used to take the form of his loved ones shaking their heads in disapproval but it's changed since then. Now his Boggart takes the form of Voldemort, the most terrifying creature or man that Draco can conceive of.
Patronus Would Be: Draco can't produce a Patronus for a few reasons, the main one being he has a hard time picking a happy enough memory and hanging onto it. He's gotten a bit of wispy stuff a couple of times before panicking and losing concentration. If he were to cast a corporeal Patronus it would take the form of a ferret, but it isn't likely to happen any time soon.
Sexuality

Draco hasn't given much thought to his sexuality recently. There just hasn't been the time for it. If he were to sit down and consider it, he would have to admit that he isn't exactly straight. He's always been very fond of Quidditch players and then there is the somewhat persistent attraction to Harry bloody Potter of all people. Draco does, however, still like girls to an extent. He craves what he thinks only they can give, affection and unconditional love. Whether or not this attraction is fully sexual or just a psychological thing, he doesn't know, but if forced Draco would tentatively label himself as bisexual.

Lifestyle

Occupation: None.
Residence: Draco has taken up residence at Spinner's End along with Theodore Nott and a pack of werewolves, but he plans to move in with Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley soon.
Financial Status: Draco is, surprisingly enough, very independently wealthy. His father and mother opened up a vault for him when he was a baby, the money acting as a savings account of sorts. At the age of seventeen the vault was officially turned over to him and Draco has unfettered access to the money within. He hasn't had a chance to spend much of it, yet, though.
Family

Parents: Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Black Malfoy
Siblings: none

Draco used to get along pretty well with his parents. They spoiled him, coddled him, loved him . . . and then Voldemort rose again and in quick succession Draco lost his father to failure and his mother to Dumbledore. Draco still considers what happened to him a betrayal. Despite his own feelings toward Dumbledore (a mixed bag of respect and affection) he still can't believe his mum would leave him to die so that she could save herself, and he can hardly stand the sight of his father anymore. They haven't spoken since the war began and now that it's over Draco's not sure what will happen, but he does plan on asserting some of his independence. He can't stand the idea of being tethered to two people who hurt him so badly.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

Draco fled Hogwarts with Severus Snape immediately after Dumbledore's death. What he didn't know then, what he couldn't consider past the fear clouding his mind and the adrenaline flooding his system, was that the headmaster had left an indelible mark on Draco.

The next few days passed by in something of a pain induced daze. The punishment for his failure was torture at Voldemort’s wand and the only upside to any of it was the fact that it gave him a chance to think. During those long hours of hazy consciousness Draco was able to contemplate the last few months, the disappointment and embodiment of fear that was the Dark Lord, the failure that was his father and Severus, Severus who had made Draco look like an idiot but more than that, Severus who had killed the only man to ever offer to save Draco without expecting anything in return.

As a result, Draco found himself yearning for a chance to go back and accept Dumbledore’s offer. Something that Voldemort picked up on rather quickly. The Dark Lord also noted Draco’s weakened mental and emotional state and his overwhelming sense of betrayal. It was with great satisfaction that Voldemort informed Draco that his mother had abandoned him in favor of being hid away by Dumbledore and his precious Order, dealing a harsh blow to Draco that Voldemort tried to take advantage of.

In a perverse parody of Dumbledore’s own words to Draco on that tower, Voldemort told Draco that he was a smart boy and that he could really go places. He promised to protect him, to take care of him, to give him power and make him into a leader among Death Eaters. All Draco had to do was pledge himself to Voldemort and allow himself to be Marked. Draco, in a fit of recklessness fortified by Dumbledore’s last act of kindness, refused and continued to do so for several weeks.

Voldemort eventually changed the boy’s mind and it was a broken Draco Malfoy that forced a ‘yes’ past cracked and bleeding lips. The Dark Lord relished in that yes and then refused to Mark Draco, declaring him a pathetic waste of a Pureblood and degrading him in front of an audience of Death Eaters before giving Draco to them as a ‘gift’ to Lucius and Narcissa. Voldemort’s orders were clear: humiliate, mark and crush so that they could return him to his parents as a living, breathing example of what it meant to make a mistake and defy him.

Draco suffered varying degrees of physical and mental over the course of his time as a captive and while he spent most of that time wishing he were dead he also drew strength from what Dumbledore had said and offered on the tower, developing an almost unhealthy attachment to him because he’d been ready to give without taking, unlike everyone Draco had ever trusted.

The final straw was after Draco was forced to witness the rape, torture and murder of several Muggles. He knew, then, that he wanted to get the hell out of Voldemort’s clutches and he began formulating a plan. Voldemort figured it out, of course, but in his usual arrogant fashion he assumed that keeping Draco weak would stop him from escaping. Draco’s plan was half-cocked at best, but it didn’t take much strength to offer up his blood as a sacrifice to Voldemort’s wards.

The rest of his escape is hazy in his memory now. He made it to Hogwarts where he officially defected to the light side for many reasons, some of them as petty as revenge, others as noble as a desire to do something right for once. Something that Dumbledore would have been proud of. The final battle was rough for Draco. He wasn’t a killer and he was forced to face down people that he knew, adults he’d grown up seeing all the time and somewhere in the battle was Severus Snape.

Voldemort’s death was what triggered the mental breakdown that landed Draco in St. Mungo’s. It was too much to deal with all at once, the knowledge that he was really and truly gone. Draco’s currently feeling much better, thank you very much, and he’s bugging the bloody hell out of all of the Healers in charge of him at St. Mungo’s. He’s still in a very vulnerable place emotionally, physically and psychologically but he’s pretending that everything’s okay.
