| Bio: | Six degrees of separation is the theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. The theory was first proposed in 1929 by the Hungarian writer Frigyes Karinthy in a short story called Chains. This journal was created for the purpose of posting my 2005 NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month- check it out at http://www.nanowrimo.org) novel, entitled Six Degrees of Separation. It will be friends only, but if you add me, or comment on the first entry (which there will eventually be,) I'll add you back. Just a general disclaimer: this novel has virtually no plot. There is a 99% chance that it will go absolutely nowhere that it didn't start at. I leave the 1% there, solely because one never knows when they start writing. However, the general concept of the novel really does not place an emphasis on plot. It's mainly one enormous collection of character sketches, detailing periods in the lives of seven individuals, ultimately connecting the first and last character (hence six degrees). So if you're looking for something thrilling or chock full of action, I'd suggest another novel. However, it just may provoke some thoughts or be an aesthetically pleasing read (but no guaruntees!) Anyway, if you're still interested, feel free to add me. I plan to update periodically (between 3 and 6 times a week) during November, assuming I complete NaNoWriMo (which would be a first for me) this year. For now, the journal will contain outlines, character name banks, brainstorming, rough character sketches and the like. Enjoy! | ||||
