Snake Eater [19 Jan 2004|05:01am]
[ mood | cold ]

CGE status will have to wait until next update. I just woke up from a nightmare and I feel like I need to document it immediately for future worry while it's still fresh in my mind. Let's go.

The dream began with me back at my mom's house in San Antonio. I was cutting slices from a pan of brownies and a pan of pumpkin pie. A gigantic, baking pan-shaped pumpkin pie. Sounds delicious, doesn't it? I wonder if such a thing is possible.

Anyway, so I took a plateful of brownies/pie back to my old room, sat down...and then, you know, started pulling snakes out from under my bed and eating them.

What the hell, man.

And when I say eating, I don't mean biting off meaty chunks one by one, chewing, and then swallowing. I would take a snake, stuff it head-first into my mouth, and swallow it in one gulp. At about the third or fourth snake, I finally stopped myself and thought "what the hell am I DOING?", so in midgulp, I reached in my mouth and pulled the snake out by its tail. Slowly. It came back up with agonizing slowness, and I could feel its scaly, cold skin scrape against the back of my throat all the while.

After finally pulling it out, I woke up and immediately jumped out of bed - almost falling over because one of my legs was asleep - and stumble-ran to the kitchen to get something to drink, since it felt like the bumpy snakeskin texture was still embedded in my throat.

Euuuugh.

So now I sit here, wide awake, with a newly-opened Diet Coke at my side, and wonder where the hell these weird dreams I've been having over the last few nights are coming from.

Other recent highlights. )

So what's causing this, stress? Something I ate? I wish I knew, so I could get some uninterrupted sleep for once; it's getting harder and harder to come by lately. So much for trying to get a normal sleep schedule going again for the start of the semester. Blargff.
