college is beautifully more than just ok. yesterday ultimate frisbee and OOZE FEST the mud volleyball tourament. people are starting to figure out how freakishly high i can jump. already finding wonderful people and there are plenty more out there. came back to my room at midnight last night to ten kids watching an 80s movie. the night before stayed up talking to a girl named teresa elizabeth flemming, a water polo player from california until 2:30 and then took a shower. this new laptop is fun but technology easily flusters me. the cute but yet mysterious little girl persona seems to be amplified here, theres really no escaping it, so ill just run with it instead. the forein exchange students are fun...they all seem to be very amused by me. cute boy named tap whos from zimbabwe, samir- not sure where he's from and a girl from vietnam. road my bike down town yesterday to the coffee shop...hehehe. i cant wait to jump right into this community. almost went to a drum circle last night with a 55 year old women named sandy who volunteers at the fair trade shop. some of the hills kicked my ass but soon it will be the other way around. midway into last night it stopped feeling like a vacation. life is good. its nice to say that on the other side of this transition.

Isn't the feeling amazing? The people, experience, and even when you think it feels too good to be true you get that extra assignment or a real chore comes up and you realize its your devotion to learning that will truly make this an experience and not just a pit stop. I love the people. All of them, the way they talk and think, although at Hartford it takes some time to find those who aren't here for drinking and partying. When I want intelligent and warmhearted interaction I just go into the Hartt music building and I can find beautiful people, that or find a lunch lady with a warm smile and she'll give a nice conversation. The technology thing, if you learn to use it to better your expeirence it can be a way to connect with people. Like right now, I feel I've connected with my friend. I hope these words find you, and find you well, perhaps I'll write a letter, I think that would make me feel good, my e-mail is daponte@hartford.edu, e-mail me your adress, only if you want to, but I think a letter might be cool.
