Floyd Mayweather Claps Back at 50 Cent's "Literacy Challenge", Posts His $72 Million Checks

The drama continues between frenemies 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather.  After all the shade 50 tossed Floyd's way about being illiterate, Floyd finally hit back today.

We told you about 50's shade-filled challenge to Floyd recently over on Instagram.  He switched up the rules of the ALS #IceBucketChallenge and said he would donate $750,000 if boxing champ Floyd could read a full page out of a Harry Potter book...without messing up.  Damn shame.  He went even further and said he could read a page out of Cat In the Hat instead...since those words may be too big in the Harry Potter books.

While Twitter and IG followers jumped on the bandwagon to troll Floyd even more, the folks over at The Breakfast Club released raw audio of Floyd taking an hour to read a 10-second drop.

Selfie pilot (starring Karen Gillian & John Cho) debuts on Hulu early

The fall television season now starts earlier, thanks to networks posting their pilots early online to give audiences extra opportunities to decide if they want to devote their time to them. As this trend continues to build, a second fall 2014 pilot has appeared online already, ABC’s Selfie.

The sitcom pilot is loosely based on the Pygmalion/My Fair Lady story. Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) plays Eliza, a narcissistic online celebrity whose image crashes after a breakup. She enlists Henry, played by John Cho (Star Trek) to help her rehabilitate her image and reconnect with the human world.

As Entertainment Weekly points out, ABC has just posted the pilot episode on Hulu, over a month before it is slated to premiere on Sept. 30.

Selfie was written by Emily Kapnek (Suburgatory) and directed by Julie Anne Robinson. You can watch the pilot below to decide if George Bernard Shaw’s work really needed to be updated for the 21st century.

Not amazing but not bad. I think it's cute but unsure how it can sustain in the long run. What do you think ONTD?

Chery Cole- Call My Name live Stand Up To Cancer

Cheryl was supposed to either completely mime or sing along to the backing track in this performance, which unfortunately however never came on leaving her to awkwardly dance and breathe into her mic for the first minute and a half before starting to sing live.

Taylor Swift Was ‘Horrified’ To See John Mayer Again

Taylor Swift and John Mayer were in the same place at the same time on August 20, but it was NO date. In fact, a source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Tay was ‘horrified’ to see John again!
Fresh off the release of her catchier-than-catchy new single “Shake It Off,” Taylor Swift, 24, was spotted leaving dinner at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, Calif. on August 20 around the same time as her ex John Mayer, 36. Of course, the rumor mill immediately churning, claiming that the two were on a date; however, nothing could be further from the truth — a source close to Taylor reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that she was absolutely “horrified” to see him there. Been there, girl.

“When Taylor saw John it was as if she saw a ghost,” our source reveals. “She was horrified and, for a moment, contemplated leaving. Cooler heads prevailed and she acted as if she didn’t see him but she totally knew he was there and was uncomfortable.”

MTV VMAs 2014 Preview: Creating the Next Miley Moment, Ariana Grande's 'Space Glam' Plan & More

Before last year's MTV Video Music Awards, viewers had no idea what Miley Cyrus was about to unleash on the world, with her twerking and her flesh-colored latex bikini and her tongue wagging. But Dave Sirulnick did.

So heading into this year's VMAs, airing live Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on MTV, what does the veteran producer do to help create those show-stopping moments -- or to manage the ones that no one saw coming (we're looking at you, 2009 Kanye)?

"There are the planned surprises -- planned by us, but a surprise to the audience, which oftentimes is two people performing together who you didn't know until the show started, or something like that. And then, of course, there are the unplanned surprises, which are often very, very fun and we all remember them," Sirulnick told Billboard on Thursday during a press preview of the VMA stage at Inglewood, Calif.'s newly renovated Forum.

"As producers, I feel like what we try to do is work closely with the artists to give them the best platform to express themselves: who they are in that given moment, what they want to get across to their audience," he continued. "But at the same time, putting the right people in the room, all their peers, so the moments can happen. There's a comfort there -- so Beyonce choosing a few years ago to reveal to the world she's pregnant, there was a comfort there with her peers being there and welcoming the audience into that wonderful family moment. … And there's many, many times where we're sitting there watching it happen with the rest of the world, going, 'Oh, wow! OK!'"

One of those planned moments is Ariana Grande opening the show, playing her Zedd-assisted dance track "Break Free" as well as the super-diva anthem "Bang Bang" with Nicki Minaj and Jessie J. Grande teased that her "Break Free" performance won't stray too far from the song's Barbarella-channeling visual.

Frankie Boyle tells BBC to sack 'cultural tumour' Jeremy Clarkson

Top Gear host 'is tolerated as he's a friend of Cameron', Edinburgh television festival is told

Comedian Frankie Boyle has called for Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson to be sacked "because he's a cultural tumour".

Boyle said that following Clarkson's apology and his final warning from the BBC after an online video emerged of him apparently mumbling the N-word in the nursery rhyme Eeny, Meeny, Miny Moe in an outtake from the BBC2 programme, he "should be removed".

"He comes from a very bad place and the reason he's tolerated is that he's recognised by people in power ... in fact he's a friend of [David] Cameron's," said Boyle. "He's in there like a fucking growth and he should be removed because he's horrible. Sack him because he's a cultural tumour."

Speaking at the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival, Boyle also described Rupert Murdoch as "obviously a c*** and fucking tumour".

"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" bombs hard

According to early estimates, The Weinstein Co.’s “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” is practically dead on arrival.

Friday’s projections showed the sequel appeared heading for an opening weekend in the $10 million range at 2,894 sites — far below recent estimates of a $15 million launch — with a meager first-day gross of $3.6 million including a sparse $475,000 from Thursday night shows.

Weekend Projections
1. Guardians - $16.7 million
2. If I Stay - $16.4 million
3. Ninja Turtles - $15.3 million
4. Let's Be Cops - $10.6 million
5. Game Stands Tall - $9.5 million
6. Sin City - $6.1 million

Despite TWC’s noir-drenched marketing campaign and the star power of Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Eva Green, Mickey Rourke and Bruce Willis, “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” is likely headed for fifth or sixth place. It currently trails Chloe Grace Moretz’s weeper “If I Stay,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” the launch of low-budget sports drama “When the Game Stood Tall” and possibly the second weekend of “Let’s Be Cops.”

The nine-year hiatus between the original “Sin City” and the sequel appears to have dissipated any lingering good will from the original, which opened impressively with a $29 million weekend and went on to gross $74 million. Critical support has been lacking with a 41% fresh rating on the Rotten Tomatoes aggregator site.

Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson Nudes (NSFW)

A woman has leaked nudes of Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson and for once I can understand why women flock to him. To say he is well endowed would be a complete understatement. Mine eyes have seen the glory and I would find the words to explain it but the dictionary isn't big enough.  But, enough of my babbling, let's get to the goods.
Ochocinco has been dating his girlfriend Crystal dating back until at least Christmas 2013 but apparently he hasn't been faithful, according to a Baller Mail we received.

NBC cancels Emerald City before it airs

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Wizard of Oz fans at Comic-Con last month saw ads promoting an upcoming limited series called Emerald City, NBC’s long-gestating modern take on the magical land over the rainbow. Now that project is no longer moving forward.

EW has confirmed NBC has dropped a house on its plan to go down the Yellow Brick Road in prime-time, though producer Universal Television might still shop Emerald City around to other networks. The project had a straight-to-series 10-episode order in January with writers Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Matt Arnold (Siberia). Sources say the network and writers ended up with creative differences on how best to execute the story.

Based on the 14-book series that first created the Land of Oz, Emerald City was originally described as a “dramatic and modern re-imagining of the tales that include lethal warriors, competing kingdoms, and the infamous wizard as we’ve never seen him before.” The project was to star a “head-strong 20-year-old Dorothy Gale” who is “unwittingly sent on an eye-opening journey that thrusts her into the center of an epic and bloody battle for the control of Oz.” The lead role was never cast.

What A Time To Be Alive: Taylor Swift's Feminist Awakening

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The hysteria and scrutiny came later, with songs like 2010’s Better Than Revenge. Fired at the woman who took her man, rather than the man himself, it includes the snide, “no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity” and a chorus that’s distinctly unsisterly: “She’s an actress, whoa/ But she’s better known for the things that she does/ On the mattress, whoa”.

For a moment, Swift seemed in danger of typecasting herself as a victimised prude. “I was 17 when I wrote that,” she reminds me. “That’s the age you are when you think someone can actually take your boyfriend. Then you grow up and realise no one take someone from you if they don’t want to leave.”

As for the endless “is Taylor Swift a feminist?” pieces – well, they can die now. “As a teenager, I didn’t understand that saying you’re a feminist is just saying that you hope women and men will have equal rights and equal opportunities. What it seemed to me, the way it was phrased in culture, society, was that you hate men. And now, I think a lot of girls have had a feminist awakening because they understand what the word means. For so long it’s been made to seem like something where you’d picket against the opposite sex, whereas it’s not about that at all. Becoming friends with Lena – without her preaching to me, but just seeing why she believes what she believes, why she says what she says, why she stands for what she stands for – has made me realise that I’ve been taking a feminist stance without actually saying so.”

cool interview tho, i bolded things yoCollapse )

I found the woman! WOOHOO! 24 Legendary Creators Gather to Share Secrets From 53 Years of TV

King of the Hill creator Mike Judge arrived first to Quixote Studios in Hollywood. Cagney & Lacey's Barbara Corday pulled up soon after. Then The Simpsons producer Al Jean; Sex and the City's Michael Patrick King; and The Dick Van Dyke Show's Carl Reiner. By 4:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Aug. 6, 19 others — each producers of an Emmy-winning comedy or drama — had joined them.

Over the next hour and a half, the gathering of producers, who have more than 80 statuettes collectively, caught up with old friends, former rivals and, in a few cases, one-time colleagues. (Yes, Mitch Hurwitz once took sandwich orders for Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon as a production assistant on CBS' late-1980s drama, Beauty and the Beast.)

Standing out in the mix of heavyweights was Norman Lear, who rarely was without a cluster of producers coming by to pay their respects. "Norman kicked the door down," Everybody Loves Raymond's Phil Rosenthal noted of the All in the Family creator's influence, with 24 and Homeland's Gordon revealing at one point that he was "too nervous" to introduce himself.

Here, 24 Emmy winners share their memories of producing 53 years of trail-blazing television.
