AN: This fic was written for [info]sirry_slash SSS 2006.
Recipient's name: miss_solitute
Title: You Lucky Dog, You
Author: Qellaswe
Rating: PG
Pairings: Sirius/Harry, Remus/ Severus, Ron/Draco, implied Ron/Hermione
Disclaimer: I don't own these lovely boys. That would be another blond woman, who lives on the other side of the Atlantic. This is not Brit-picked, by far.
Warnings: slight sexual innuendo, a brief mention of previous violence
Summary: Mix together Naïve!Harry Potter, Returned!Sirius Black, and Sentient!Hogwarts together. Throw in a pinch of Matchmaking!Albus Dumbledore and a dash of Matchmaker's Apprentice!Dobby. Stir until smooth. Chill one hour and serve.
Notes: Thanks to my sister who beta'd. Any further mistakes are my attempts to make it a bit funnier. I couldn't quite get Harry and Sirius to seduce each other, so I hope that you don't mind them pairing up against a certain matchmaking former headmaster.

Rating: T
Pairings: implied Harry/OC
Warnings: implied non-con (het) sex, brief mention of drug usage

I've finished reading DH for the second time, and I am both happy and sad that it's over. Not that my fanfics are over, but that I won't have any new material to work with. I won't go into what I thought about it, other than I'm not happy with a couple of the deaths. I thought the same way after reading book 4 and 5. Especially 4, because we had no power and I read the ending of the book by candlelight. Appropriate I think.

Anyway, I will be putting up the story I was originally going to put up just before the book came out. I got it back from the beta a week ago, but I was in the depths of DH, and couldn't bother looking at it. There are a couple of things to polish up, so it probably won't be until tomorrow or Thursday at the latest when I put it up. After reading book 7, I think I will go ahead and try to write the third novella in my story arc.

I'm not sure why, but the second I get home from camping, I end up sleeping the next two days. Plus, my feet are so swollen from eating all the salty food everyone seems to bring, that it hurts to walk. Or put shoes on. Or stand. Pretty much do anything.

So, the story I was hoping to put up, starting Wed., won't be up until next week. Maybe. It depends on what's in DH. which I won't be getting until tomorrow and won't be able to read until Sunday. I will be shopping with my mother. On the other hand, she's paying for the book.

In the meantime, I will be reading Wicked. Which isn't anything like the musical.

Which reminds me. If you can only see one musical this year, make it 'Wicked.' It was awesome. (And if you can see two, also watch 'Spamalot,' which I get to see a second time in December.)

Well, it's time for my family's annual camping trip, so I won't be around until Wednesday. We have a reunion on Saturday night. Sunday, we have to come back home to go see Wicked at the local performing arts center. Then it's back to camping. When we got our tickets back in November, we had planned on camping last weekend. In January, we decided to move the camping a week forward, because of the 4th being on a Wednesday this year, and by that time, the musical was sold out - as far as members goes.

I will be working on my stories when I'm at the campground, but will not have access to a computer. Whatever I write will be longhand, something my family gives me no end of grief about. But I'm not dragging my laptop out where it can get sand in it, or a skunk near it - or any other kind of animal.

When I get back, I will be putting up the companion piece to lilium auratum. This story features Remus as the narrator, and takes place after the war is finished.

Title: Lilium auratum
Author: Qellaswe/[info]quinn__
Rating: K+, for language
Pairings: one-sided Lily/DADA professor, pre-James/Lily
Spoilers: I'll say through HBP, just to cover all the bases
Summary: It's the start of Lily Evans' sixth year at Hogwarts. What happens when she takes a shine to the newest DADA teacher? And what's up with James Potter, anyway?
AN: It's my first MWPP era fic, and I have to say that I'm very excited. This story was begun just after HBP came out, so I thought I should get it up before DH is out. It was orginally part of a three-story series, but the third was never finished. The second story will be out as soon as it's been looked through.
This story has been cut into three parts to make reading a bit easier.

Ah, the joys of summer. Eating watermelon. Watching fireflies in the yard. Washing your dog because he startled a skunk.

Yes, my sister's dog got sprayed by a skunk last night when he startled it in the weeds. Oh, and my dad got some of it, too, but not as bad. So every couple of hours, the dog had to be washed. The homemade recipe we found worked, but it had to be reapplied a couple of times. It's finally gone now, and I hope he never finds another skunk.

The house smelled terrible, even with all of the windows open and fans galore going. Did I mention that it all happened in the back of the yard? Luckily, my bedroom was on the opposite side of the house, so I didn't get it too bad, but it's not fun to cover your nose with the sheet to filter it out on a hot, summer night.

It may have taken almost five months, but I'm back in the world of fanfiction. I'm currently in the process of finishing two one-shots, as well as progressing on one chaptered story and am finishing up my three-novellas story.

However, I won't be around as much as I used to be. I am scouting around for a job, because I need a car. (And I need a car for a job. It's just a vicious circle, sometimes.) All of which means I won't have much of a chance to use a computer. I will get to use my parents' computer, but that doesn't compare to the indignity of having to live with them, as I am really, really broke.

I won't be giving deadlines, because I've learned that when I'm writing for myself, I can't work that way. Such as the case with my non-defunct stories for a recent fest that finished.

For those wondering just why I disappeared completely? )

Between being out of town - for both work and personal reasons - and a screwy internet connection due to the power going out at the cable company, I haven't been able to get everything ready for the transfer to this journal. I will try to get it up sometime this week, but I can't guarantee that. I can't promise to be back in the fandom much, other than writing my stories, due to the personal reasons mentioned above. RL is just too hard right now. It doesn't mean that I won't return, though, because I fully mean to come back to the fandom that's given me such enjoyment.

I've gone through my old lj and put tags on all of my stories, as well as putting up the list on the profile. In addition, I've gone through and deleted any entries that did not have any story (drabble, fic, chapter) in it.

I hope to have everything set by the end of the week, since my paid account on [info]richan_mmi is set to expire on the 12th. I have a couple of things that I want to upload onto that journal, but they will be backdated to fit in with the rest of the chapters that were already there. Once this is done, I will also update my geocities website, so that there will be easy access to my stories there.

here comes trouble
10 January 2007 @ 10:45 am
This will become my new journal next month, when the time expires on my paid account. I will be switching to this one exclusively, having outgrown what I will call my old persona. I've had the fan name of "Richan" for seven years - with the past five on ffnet - and it no longer fits me. I originally came up with "Richan" while I was madly, desperately in love with all thing anime, starting with the name Ri-chan and evolving into Richan. When ffnet made everyone get an 'individualized' name, I went with Richan MMIII, MMIII meaning 2003. So I can always remember when they did that. I eventually went to MMI, the year that I started writing HP fanfic, since that is what I typically write these days.

I will wait until the time expires on the account in the middle of February before moving here fully, so until that time continue to watch [info]richan_mmi for updates.
