Weirdness?

Ok, so... I keep getting comments from people I don't know.  Who are you people, and how did you find my LJ?

I am a multi-faceted nerd.

I intend to get a concealed carry permit and (obviously) a handgun.

I'm a full time college student.

I cook, and damn well.

And I'm a sexy woman.

Last night exceeded my best expectations.  Thank you all.

Food is love.  Wine is social astroglide.  All of you are wonderful people.

Onward to the news!  This is my last week before school starts... I still don't have my books, but we'll be ordering what we can find online Monday.  I've got 14 units and I still managed to keep Friday off.

Monday and Wednesday: Psyc 1A, Exersize class, Life drawing.  I'll be at school from about 11am to after 6pm.  Those are going to be the tougher days, but guess what?  I'm looking forward to it.  Although I did take a Psyc class at Shasta College, it's been over four years now... a very long four years.  I don't recall most of what I learned in that class, and it's quite possible that certain psychology ideas have changed since then.  I think it's in my best interest to re-take the class.

I need to exersize... the class is "Women's self defense and aerobics", but it's only the aerobics I'm interested in.  I've got a man and I'm getting a handgun.... I just need to be able to keep up.  My endurance is laughable right now.

As for Life Drawing... well, I've always wanted to take a life drawing class.  Creative outlet + fulfilling of a personal goal + necessary credits.  I don't have to ace the class; I only need to pass it and enjoy myself.  Please help me remember this, because I'm sure to forget.

Tuesday and Thursday nights I have two different ECE classes, one each night.  Basically, thing one and thing two.  One of my classmates from the English class told me that most of what one learns in the class is intuitive, especially considering that I've worked with all manner of children.  I don't think the classes are by definition "easy A" classes, but they shouldn't be too difficult for me.

That's it for now, really.  Looking forward to school and chilling until it sneaks up on me.  I'm bound to be a stress mess the first week... getting my head re-schedualed is always fun for everyone.  Hell, I should be a Disney attraction.

David got a new baby.  300 Winchester Magnum.  Get happy in the pants.  I know he is.

Did you loose a backpack on Saturday?  Possibly at David's house?

Let me know... post here and identify it.

Thanks.

(Otherwise, I'm keeping it.)

I really ought to do something besides laundry and computer today.  Ah well.

So, I'm in love with the show "The West Wing" which David has downloaded for us.  I found some trivia about it and I discoverd that the writier of the show, Aaron Sorkin, is the same man who wrote the short film "A Few Good Men."

Although I didn't know it, I've respected this man's work since highschool.  Damn that feels good.

Events!

J-bone and Steph... weeeeeeeeeeeeee!  Awesome ceremony: I can't believe how perfectly David's singing "The Cruddy Boi" meshed with carrying in Ms. Jesus.  I hope both of you realize how bloody happy everyone was and is for you to... practically glowing.  I wish I could recall more of the evening, but that's why we drink, yes?  I'm proud of you two and I love you both very much.  I promise we'll get the film developed eventually.

It was great to see Christine, Peaches, and Miranda, all of whom I haven't seen in a year or more. Someone threatened me for a cigarette on the Arcata Plaza with a knife... I'd just given my last one to Loren and I was TOSSED.  David was pissed, a'course.  Also, Jeriah's dad cannot sing.  Period.

I had frog legs for the first time last night.  About as chewy and tasteless alone as I expected, but the cooking spices and dipping sauce made up for it.  They were actually pretty damn good.  And I've had one more random meat :D

I got an A in the English class, and an A- on the Research paper, which I'm sure none of you read.  Toughest teacher ever... I earned that A, and damnit I'm proud.

I've also fallen in love with "The West Wing".  It's amazing to me that a political fantasy drama show can be so interesting simply because it makes me feel better about government.  Just... it's fantasy, and it's so well done.  My god.  That we (people) evidently NEED political fantasy says quite a bit about how people feel about the govmn't.

Oh, and Alex went from being a cat to being a demonic monkey.

Does anyone even read this?

Done!

Well, 98% done.  I'll likely read it once more in the morning, and change a few possible errors.  Other than that, I'm ready.

So, for your reading pleasure, here is my research paper.  Have at.

I hope you enjoyed that!

Our photos from this trip are on David's camera.  As we haven't gotten them developed yet, I thought I'd share some from Easter.

Just tell me how cute he is, eh?

I'm feelin' : cheerful
Hey! We made it back!

Going up to my Mom's house is always a bit of an adventure. Her "cabin in the woods" she calls it.

We got in about midnight; go figure. She was really happy to see us, but Griff was conked. Mom had set up a bed for us in the old trailer, misquito free. The nights were definatly warm, but not as bloody hot as they were when I lived in the bus.

Griff came in and woke us up the next morning (and the mornings following). He was so happy to see me... and he remembered David too! He didn't particularly like being kicked out of the room so we could get dressed though. :D

Griff had a blast at his birthday party. My mom rented the Beiber pool for him. Kid LOVES to swim. The lifeguard wouldn't survive long outside of Beiber... I tried not to get too angry at her.

About 40 people in all showed up for Griff's birthday party. I swear, there were more smokers at his party than at mine. Whole bunch of rednecks, but what else would I expect? Teresa (Mom's friend, my friend's mom) was asking me what I was doing for school. When I explained it to her, she said (of Hum) "there's not really much over there, is there?" I replied "What, compared to McArthur?" She didn't find that very funny. Heh.

Her son, Jimmy, got HUGE. I mean, I remember this kid at 5. He's 18 now and about two feet taller than me. Scary shit.

David had a conversation with Super Redneck Man. Really, he used the terms "terroist" and "Y2K" freely. Well, let me amend that... David didn't really have a conversation with him. David just got talked at a lot.

Griff got these great little nerf dart guns for his birthday. After the pool, we spent much of the rest of the weekend shooting eachother with them. He's got better aim than me.

The next day (Saturday), Mom and Ivan took us out to Ahjumawi. The private "entrance", where they've cut they're own road. Ahhhh... deep, blue water, trees, and Shasta towering over all.

http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=464

Those directions won't get you to where we were. They'll get you to the same lake, but the bad part of it.
David had a blast just floating in the water.

Oh... and the sunset Friday night from the Beiber Mt. was spectacular. David took some great photos. He took a lot of great photos. We'll get them developed eventually.

I told my Mom the "seen kyle" joke.
Me: Hey mom, have you seen kyle? He's about this tall... etc.
Mom: Kyle? Who's Kyle?
Me: No, it's a joke. Zieg Heil, seen Kyle? *salutes* ZEIG HEIL!
Mom: Zeig Heil? *puzzled look, salutes from the forehead* Who was that?
Me: MOM! Nazis?
Mom: Oh... ok....

Eh. That's my mom.

Anyway, it was a wonderful trip. Gads, Griff's TEN now. Doubles. Wow. Just bloody wow.

There's so much more to tell, but it'll wait.

I'm so glad I got to be there. I'm sorry I missed the parties, but that's how things happen.

I'll talk at y'all later. I've gotta wash the hick off me :D

Greenhouse!

I'm feelin' : hungry
Hooray! The greenhouse is up and running! Thank you SO much for your help this morning Regnar. That was wonderful.

We got a soaker hose and a timer for it at Peirsons, along with more plants.
CILANTRO (I love it!) and purple basil and thyme and spinach and broccoli and tomatoes tomatoes tomatoes tomatoes! I think we have 4 different kinds of tomatoes. And two kinds of hot peppers, including a habanero plant.

As to the seeds, the chives, bellpepper, and basil have sprouted. I'm so excited!

*squee*

In other news, my resarch paper is going well. I'll likely post it here at some point for those of you who might be interested in reading it.

And I'm lvl 27. Never thought I'd like a squishy so much.

Tiffany: I'm sorry I didn't call. I'm far too easily distracted.

David and I are going out of town this Thursday and up to my mom's house. It's my little brother's 10th birthday.

I'm sorry to Alyse, Jeriah, and Stephanie that I will miss your parties and celebrations. I love you all very much, and I hope the parties are everything you want them to be. We'll be thinking about you over the weekend, and we're considering having another pool party in the near future.

Please understand how much Griff means to me. I have to be there.

In the good news.... we planted a bunch of different things, and we're cleaning out the greenhouse for after they sprout.

Seeds of: Basil, sage, lavender, bell peppers, mint, and chives. We also got some tomato and pepper plants.

The greenhouse needs a lot of work. It's full of spiders and morning glory plants right now. We're pulling out what we can, although I won't be much of a help for the next few days.

I discovered a caterpilliar making a cocoon on the outside of the greenhouse door. Nifty thing to watch.

We also painted the bathroom. There's an actual roof in their now, and a heat lamp over the shower. OH! And a new, clean, actually flushing toilet. It's much nicer now... fewer spiders.

The weekend of the 28th (ATV Honor weekend, says David) we're going over to my Mom's house for the weekend. My little bro's birthday is on the 28th. He's going to be 10. Wow. It's an odd (new) feeling to look at him and remember when he was born. I hope that I'm always a good sister to him.

Onward to gun control issues!

I missed the last step on the stairs to David's bathroom last night. And landed on my ankle. All of me. On cement.

That's the second time my body's gone into shock from pain. There was no one around the first time.

David ran downstairs and picked me up and did everything he could (and still is) to help me not hurt. My god I'm lucky.

So, I'm a gimp for the rest of the weekend. Fortounatly, I need to write an essay this weekend. Now I can't escape!

That, and I get to play WoW.
