Bio:

In 1979 I picked up a paperback book in the library called The Hobbit. Such a small thing... The next day I purchased three paperbacks, The Lord of the Rings, and that tale of friendship and wonder was a place of comfort for me for years to come.

Two years ago I walked into a movie theatre with anxiety and trepidation. I had seen films before based on books I loved and had been sorely disappointed. Three hours later my life had been changed forever. I had journeyed to Middle Earth, I truly had! I had felt the fear and confusion of the hobbits at being thrown into this evil. I had knelt with Sam at Frodo’s side on Weathertop. I had wept with the Fellowship at Gandalf’s fall and taken comfort in the beauty of Lothlorien.

What has followed has been a journey. A journey to better understand this world I now live in (both Middle Earth and Real Earth), and to learn more of Tolkien and his masterpiece creation.

My husband and two grown sons sadly shake their heads, but humor me my obsession. My daughter has joined me on my quest and has proven to be a worthy companion.

In RL I am director of a regional cultural center of art and history located on a university campus. I read voraciously, draw, write a bit and enjoy summer outdoor fun… fishing, swimming, camping and hiking. I also enjoy a good in-depth, intelligent discussion of Tolkien and the hobbit boys.
