this past week has been my first week of spring 2008, and ive been to each class already.

first day of health and first day of bio both contained a decent amount of discussion over animal rights and cruelty. interesting in itself.

portfolio is going to be great.

modern art is going to be boring.

html is going to be worth it, despite how far ahead a few of us are already.

online class will be the toughest because it is online. professional procedures, "taught" by the chairperson of our department. i guess it's not so bad because we can just go to her office and have the class in person if we need haha. i just roughly typed up my first assignment. its just a short little thing about our basic ideas behind what kind of business we would like to run.

she's going to think i'm a communist.

Cochineal extract (also known as carmine or carminic acid) is made from the desiccated bodies of female Dactylopius coccus Costa, a small insect harvested mainly in Peru and the Canary Islands. The bug feeds on red cactus berries, and color from the berries accumulates in the females and their unhatched larvae. The insects are collected, dried, and ground into a pigment. It takes about 70,000 of them to produce a pound of carmine, which is used to make processed foods look pink, red, or purple. Dannon strawberry yogurt gets its color from carmine, and so do many frozen fruit bars, candies, and fruit fillings, and Ocean Spray pink-grapefruit juice drink."

this morning i met Ray outside of some building. he had to go into a meeting, so he wanted me to sit in the front seat of his car and make sure no one made me move it. again. only this time i was given an assignment. yea haha. he gave me his Hasselblad and told me to shoot polaroids from the front seat. i wasn't allowed to leave the seat at all. talk about hard. i shot probably a pack and a half.
