foreign workers dorm... [05 Oct 2008|09:59pm] sg_ljers [duke_argonath] [ mood | angry ] I don't know if anyone here watched the news today, or have heard about the residents in ang mo kio ave 1 (the mei hwan and tai hwan area). So here is the background. A foreign workers' dormitory is set to be built in the area and a road is going to be built through their estate. The workers are specifically factory workers from the IT sector. www.sghousing.com/2008/09/17/foreign-workers-dorm-in-serangoon-gardens-not-definite/ So the residents are now "seeing red" as was reported and i don't know where to start about how immensely stupid these people are. You should have heard what some of those morons were saying. One person suggested that a long wire fence be built so that it would, and i quote, "disadvantage them to come into tai hwan" ignoring the sub standard english, did any of these idiots watch the pianist? or perhaps schindler's list? And these are old people, who LIVED through a holocaust themselves, on our own land and YET they want to restrict the movement of foreigners so they don't get inconvenienced! i am so angry i don't know how to start slamming them, but really, forget slamming them, what is wrong with our society? These people need a place to live so what do these dip shits suggest? lets dig a hole and drop them in. Remember to slow down in life; Live, breathe & learn ! [05 Oct 2008|06:58pm] thebeaumonde [ mood | giddy ] I can't believe I'm having midterms/quizzes every single week ! So of course I don't intend to study today even though I'm supposed to. I just went to work & came home to edit my overdued pictures. Anyhows, I got my 1st paycheque today, YAY ! Let's put my studies on hold & continue to where I stop in my previous entry - DIAN'S SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY =) Surprising Dian last Thursday was a HUGE success ! Carrying the numerous & large helium balloons were such a pain in the ass though. I guess I really looked like a clown having so many balloons & taking a bus to her house. What a funny sight ! I got her the following cake & 6 helium balloons like I've mentioned in the previous entry. The cake was real yummy ! I ate it even though I was having a sore throat since it's the summer cake edition of a bakery ! Also, I've been spending lots of quality time with my sister ever since she got back. We always talk until both of us fall asleep. We also eat out many times but only took photos twice. We were having sushi & filipino food then. Ever since I ate filipino food a few days back, I kept craving for it ! Went to Angel's workplace at a cafe twice before she resigned. We also studied for Econs & Calculus together at the library few days back. Bah, I hate econs - I THINK I HAVE NO COMMON SENSE ): My dearest Chemistry mates - Gina & Nancy ! Gina always reserve seats for me when I'm late for class. As for Nancy, we've been studying in the library together for the past few days & will make it a routine ;) I need to get some rest soon & mug my ass off tomorrow ! The following weekend will be a long weekend because of thanksgiving & some other holidays but I need to mug & work every weekend for my damn midterms & experience respectively.
